2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium Sedan 4-door 2.5l 5sp on 2040-cars
Elburn, Illinois, United States
NO RESERVE!!! 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium with 73k miles. Interior is very good condition, no stains or major signs of wear. This was my daily to and from Chicago so its mostly highway miles. Still has a transferable extended warranty for another two years and 100k miles. Brakes where changed 2000 miles ago (have receipt to prove it). Also have a multipoint inspection done when it was last at the dealership. Vehicle runs great and with winter rapidly approaching the symmetrical all wheel drive will keep you on the road. I have driven it the past three winters without ever getting stuck. The clutch is still in good condition and the transmission shifts smooth. A very easy car to drive.

Subaru investing $400 million for Impreza production in Indiana
Thu, 09 May 2013As a part of a goal to increase its US sales tally up to 500,000 annual units by the end of the decade, Subaru is investing $400 million in its Lafayette, IN assembly plant in order to start building the Impreza in 2016. According to Automotive News, about half of that investment will be for a new paint plant while another big chunk will be used to extend the assembly line to allow for the increased capacity.
Currently, Subaru's Lafayette plant is responsible for building about 200,000 Legacy, Outback and Tribeca models each year (not including around 100,000 Toyota Camry sedans), but Subaru-specific output will be increased to 300,000 units, requiring an additional 900 new hires as well. Although a previous report suggested the Forester and Impreza would be moving Stateside, this AN article only mentions the hatchback and sedan versions of the Impreza being added to Lafayette - and no mention of the closely related XV Crosstrek.
Should Subaru stay niche or go mainstream? [w/poll]
Sun, 11 Aug 2013
Out of all the automakers doing business in the US, Subaru is the one that has carved out the most interesting niche for itself in the minds and lifestyles of buyers. Outdoorsy types, dog lovers and active families alike flock to Subaru's rugged nature and all-wheel-drive utility - and they're fiercely loyal, which is probably why Subaru has become a success story.
But Subaru is still a relatively small player in the US market, and with recent profits surging, parent company Fuji Heavy Industries is facing a dilemma: continue on with the successful niche market Subaru has carved out for itself, or attempt to go mainstream and give big players like Nissan and Toyota a run for their money. According to Carscoop, Japan Times and Bloomberg News are reporting that Fuji Heavy is beginning discussions this month to determine which direction Subaru will take.
Subaru BRZ to get second generation, says exec
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Hallelujah friends, hallelujah. One of the highest voices in Subaru's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, has just said that the boxer-obsessed automaker will release a second generation of the lovable BRZ.
Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, president of FHI, has summarily shot down assertions made by Tetsuya Tada, the chief engineer for the Toyota GT86. In a recent interview with an Australian publication, Tada claimed that Subaru had not decided whether it would be involved in the followup effort to the rear-drive coupe, and even speculated that the Toyota could team with BMW for a second-gen car, instead.
"If I were to be told that, I'd pass out. It's not going to be just one generation," Yoshinaga-san told Automotive News.
