I am selling my 2001 Subaru Legacy GT Limited.


The car has roughly 147k on it, at the time of writing, it's 146,xxx so I will round up.

I'll dispel the bad first. The body is in "okay" shape. I bought the car to drive as a winter car, the previous owner's backed into the car with a Jeep. I have tried to show the damage. In short, the hood is a bit bent and the passenger side headlight, inside support is fractured. The frame and radiator support are both fine, I have pictures of everything. Next, we had a hail storm blow through last year. So there's some light hail damage. There is also one rust spot.

The car is 100% stock, I have never abused it, it was adult owned before I bought it. The stock car radio is still there and an after market one has been installed below it.

I replaced the clutch as a precaution before winter, so the new clutch has about 1000 miles on it.

The interior is pretty good, the pseudo-leather seats are very comfortable. The Legacy GT Limited is Subaru's luxury car. 

The car's mechanical items are all sound. The tires are in very good shape. They're Cooper Lifeliner GTS and have many many miles left on them. They were newer before winter also. Everything works, sunroof/moonroof, cruise, wipers, horn, etc. The power seats work. 

The car does have a rear limited slip differential. It's very hard to get stuck. I was never concerned while driving through blizzards.

Finally, the car from my understanding has been used on the highway pretty much its whole life. I personally have put two thousand miles on it since January. 

Reason for selling: I need a truck, it's getting too costly to rent Home Depot's truck for my home remodeling business!

Subaru mulling three-row utility, upscale versions of existing models

Subaru was one of few automakers whose sales actually picked up during the recent recession. But now that auto sales are back on track (and expected to hit pre-recession numbers this year), Subaru is trying to come up with new products to fill voids in its current lineup. Wards Auto had a chance to talk to Subaru's director-product manager Ken Lin, who indicated that the automaker is planning to introduce new models this year that will help it attract new buyers without alienating current ones.
The biggest void, of course, is a competitive three-row crossover, a role the Tribeca does not fill in one a very popular segment. Lin said that while there's no current plan to kill off the Tribeca, Subaru is looking at creating a larger three-row CUV with more interior space. In addition to to something big, Subaru is getting ready to bring its customers more luxury with new touring models, but does not anticipate going toe-to-toe with Mercedes-Benz or BMW.
By the end of this year, Subaru will be introducing a new hybrid model, although we don't yet know on which model it will be based. What we do seem to know is that the car will get its power from a nickel metal hydride battery rather than a more modern lithium-ion pack for the sake of simplicity. Finally, Lin mentioned a new product being brought into the sports car segment, but while the article takes this as a hint toward a possible BRZ Turbo, it could also be a reference to the next generation of the WRX and WRX STI.

2015 Subaru Outback

"We like producing cars that are different." That's the company line trumpeted by several Subaru executives during the launch of the 2015 Outback - one of Fuji Heavy's most successful vehicles to date. Managing Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski accurately noted that while Subaru has never really found salvation with its mainstream sedans, it's the higher-riding, butcher offerings like the Outback and the Impreza-based XV Crosstrek that have been sales stars for the Japanese company. In 2013, for example, Subaru sold nearly three Outbacks for every Legacy it moved. And in 2014, the XV is on pace to outsell the Impreza upon which its based.
But Subarus have always been different, catering to unique customers that desire something a bit more special than your run-of-the-mill sedan or crossover. It's clearly worked, with Subaru having posted 30 months of year-over-year sales increases as of this writing. And even as the automaker's portfolio goes more mainstream, smoothing out its serially awkward styling and gunning for a larger market share here in the United States, that intrinsic Subaru differentiation is still baked in to each and every product.
It's that new Outback we're here to talk about today, a vehicle that's been comprehensively redesigned for the 2015 model year while not shaking up the formula that's made it successful since its inception in the mid-1990s, back when it (arguably) launched what we now know as the crossover utility vehicle segment. It's still plenty different - and plenty good, too.

Subaru readies BRZ RA Racing for Japanese trackdays

As if we needed any more reasons to take a Subaru BRZ to the track, Subaru has just announced that it will be producing a racing-spec version of the car straight from the assembly line. The only problem is that the BRZ RA Racing is being offered for the Japanese domestic market only, and won't be visiting any road courses in the US any time soon.
To get the BRZ ready for some serious track time, Subaru added brake ducts beneath the front fascia, removable tow hooks and an oil cooler behind the grille. Inside, the car gets a factory six-point roll cage (including custom-fit floor mats) and a four-point race harness for the driver. Now we get to pricing where US enthusiasts will get even more miffed. The entire suite of racing add-ons increases the BRZ's price by 31,500 yen, which converts to less than $350 US; the total price of the car converts to right around $31,500 US.
