1986 Suzuki Samurai Ja Sport Utility 2-door 1.3l on 2040-cars
Summer Shade, Kentucky, United States
4x4 Samurai hardtop with a 1.3L (awesome mileage) carbureted engine. I have inherited this vehicle from my dad, and I would like the little jeep but need to consolidate my vehicles.
I personally went through the vehicle and correctly rebuilt the carburetor, replaced cracked vacuum lines, and leaking valve cover gaskets. I have it tuned-up, changed fluids, and its idling nicely at 800 RPM. There are no leaks and I am driving it until sold. Odometer shows 148K+ actual miles. This is an awesome, fun, little SUV. Call before I raise this low price. Serious inquiries only... Call John at 270-834-9114. Texts not

Suzuki recalling 2,800 XL7 models over faulty fuel pump
Sat, 29 Dec 2012A recall has been issued for the 2007 Suzuki XL7, but only those vehicles either bought or registered in four states: Texas, Arizona, California and Nevada. Potentially 2,380 of the SUVs manufactured from June 13, 2006 to December 22, 2006 could have an issue with their fuel pump modules: The plastic supply or return port could crack. If that happens, it could lead to a fuel leak and then to a fire.
Suzuki hasn't said when the recall will begin. Once it does, owners will be notified and can have their dealers make the necessary repairs free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.
Suzuki Jimny displays Samurai spirit in Japanese snowstorm
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Say what you will about its smallest SUVs, but you have to hand it to Suzuki: the likes of the Samurai, Sidekick and Vitara were doing the little-sport-ute-that-could thing long before most of the rest of the industry caught on. And the formula remains relevant enough that Suzuki is still selling the same basic Samurai overseas as the Jimny.
That could be why the Samurai still has something of a cult following. Well, that and the name - which, as it turns out, may not have been such a stretch after all. A Samurai warrior, after all, was just one man - but like any other knight, he was worth more than his headcount on the battlefield. Or in this case, a Japanese snowstorm. Just watch the half-minute video below to see what we mean.
American Suzuki Motors files chapter 11, will no longer sell cars in the United States
Mon, 05 Nov 2012As much as we knew it was a possibility, we have to say that Suzuki's announcement this afternoon that it is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings caught us a bit off guard. American Suzuki Motor Corporation - the sole distributor of Suzuki automobiles in the United States - will realign its business to focus on motorcycles, ATVs and the marine market.
What does this mean in simple terms? In short, new Suzuki cars and trucks will no longer be sold by Suzuki in the United States once current supplies run out. Period.
Suzuki cites "low sales volumes, a limited number of models in its lineup, unfavorable foreign exchange rates, the high costs associated with growing and maintaining an automotive distribution system in the continental US and the disproportionally high and increasing costs associated with stringent state and federal regulatory requirements unique to the US market."
