This has been one of my favorite toys for quite awhile .... It's a 1990 Toyota 4WD 4Runner SR5, V6 gas engine. The original miles are 152,421.9.
It is completely equipped for surf fishing. I've taken it out to Assateague Island for the last 4 years. It comes with many extras ..... it has a front deck, cargo carrier, new fishing tackle, surf rod holders, cooler, rain gear, propane stove with extra propane, game of horseshoes and a radio for the beach. It has all the items that are required by the park rangers for the beach .... a shovel, support boards in case you get stuck, a towing strap and WD40. I have the unlimited pass that allows you onto the National Seashore side of Assateague Island. The truck is in overall good condition. It does have some surface rust. The sunroof will not open and retract. The engine and transmission are very solid. I purchased this vehicle used from our local Koons dealership. I've owned it long enough to know it is in excellent running condition. I am selling the truck and all the extras for $3,900.00 OBO. I will only accept cash. You have to pick the truck up yourself. Toyota responds to video of Highlander ramming house [w/video]
Thu, 18 Apr 2013There are, as they say, two sides to every story, so after we posted a video on Monday showing what an owner claimed to be a case of unintended acceleration causing her Toyota Highlander to crash into a house twice, Toyota reached out to us revealing some additional information about the incident.
Following this crash, which took place back in November, Toyota had this Highlander inspected and pulled data from its Event Data Recorder (EDR), or Black Box as we've come to call it. Not only was this the first time we've seen a claim of unintended acceleration like this caught on video, but now, also a first, we have actual data showing what the vehicle itself recorded during this frightening ordeal.
Brian Lyons, Toyota Communications Manager for Safety and Quality, first gave us some information about the Highlander in question, including the fact that it was a 2012 model. The 2012 Highlander came from the factory with a brake override system, meaning it was not part of the company's initiative in 2010 to add the system to all 2011 models. Also, after looking at the data from the EDR, he said - as many of you pointed out in the comments for the previous post - that the "brake pedal was never touched." In the video, you can see that the crossover's brake lights never come on, and the EDR's data backs this up.

Fuel prices in the US have been tumbling for the last several weeks, with the average price of a gallon of gas at $3.120 as of October 20, according to the US Energy Information Administration. That price reflects a serious recent drop from $3.299 on October 6. Reports have even suggested that those low numbers might not change for a little while, perhaps as long as years. While drivers certainly love paying less at the pump, the change may be hurting the market for more fuel-efficient models, including the Toyota Prius.
Jim Lentz exposes more details behind Toyota's move to Texas
Fri, 02 May 2014Toyota's North American CEO Jim Lentz has already given us a rough idea of what prompted the company's surprise move to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX from its longstanding headquarters in Torrance, CA. A new story from The Los Angeles Times, though, delivers even more detail from Lentz on the reasoning for the move, what other cities were considered and why the company's current host city wasn't even in the running.
Of course, one of the more popular reasons being bandied about includes the $40 million Texas was set to give the company for the move, as well as the state's generous tax rates. According to Lentz, though, the reason Toyota chose Plano over a group of finalists made up of Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver, was far simpler than that - it was about consolidating its marketing, sales, engineering and production teams in a region that's closer to the company's seat of manufacturing in the south.
"It doesn't make sense to have oversight of manufacturing 2,000 miles away from where the cars were made," Lentz told The Times. "Geography is the reason not to have our headquarters in California."
