2008 Toyota 4runner - Urban Runner - Low Miles - Great Condition on 2040-cars
Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is my 2008 Toyota 4Runner V6 - Urban Runner - Special Edition -This 4runner is in great shape with low miles and has been meticulously maintained; frequently hand washed & waxed, interior cleaned and kept up with regularly, oil always changed on time from when it was new, all fluids checked regularly, etc. -It is very nicely equipped with options such as; leather seats with suede inserts that are very comfortable, sunroof, factory navigation that is removable from its dock inside the radio and able to be used outside the vehicle, steering wheel radio controls & cruise control, roof rack rails, running boards, 18 inch premium wheels, Toyota's great 4WD system at the switch of a button, and Toyota's X-reas suspension that makes the vehicle ride and handle great. -At 40,000 miles I replaced the tires with Pirelli ATR's with a 4 wheel alignment, replaced all wipers, air filter, cabin filter, and brakes all the way around. -Also when I installed the tires the rims had been flaking from where the factory wheel weights were put on so to avoid further pitting I refinished them with a custom textured guard along with silver metal flake paint and PPG clearcoat. They look simple in the photos but really shine in sunlight. |

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
Watch the Muppets go for ice cream in a Toyota
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Do Muppets drive? We're not sure it's necessarily a good idea, but it's been known to happen. Fozzy called his hibernating uncle's Studebaker a bear's "natural habitat," and Doctor Teeth wouldn't get the Electric Mayhem very far without his band's psychedelically painted school bus. But how about Rolf in a 2014 Toyota Highlander?
That's what we got a glimpse of in the run-up to the Super Bowl, and the same combination (plus one Rizzo the Rat) that features in this adorably ordinary video below. Ordinary because it's just a couple of guys going out for an ice cream. Adorable because, well... they're Muppets. See what we mean in the surprisingly entertaining two-minute clip below.
Toyota engineer warns automous cars could increase fuel use, urban sprawl
Fri, 18 Jul 2014An increasing number of people are starting to consider the potential downsides of a transition to autonomous cars. The FBI is already looking at them for the potential ill effects on law enforcement, and a scientist for Toyota is raising the possibility that driverless vehicles could actually be detrimental to the environment over the long term.
Ken Laberteaux, who studies future transportation for Toyota, thinks that autonomous cars could lead to more pollution, not less, says Bloomberg. However, Laberteaux's theory isn't so much based purely on science as it is considering behavioral and historical trends. "US history shows that anytime you make driving easier, there seems to be this inexhaustible desire to live further from things," said Laberteaux during a presentation at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco, CA, cited by Bloomberg.
Laberteaux's belief is that if commuters can make their drives easier, then they will be more willing to live farther away from the cities where they work. The end result would be more urban sprawl and increased pollution from the longer travel times.
