Welcome to my 1997 Toyota Avalon XL. This vehicle was the top-of-the-line Toyota of its time and
only has 152k miles. The engine has runs like new with nothing to report
or fix. The transmission shifts 100% without issue. All power options – automatic climate control, radio,
locks, windows, etc. - function properly. The paint is in excellent
condition. There are minimal dents, dings, or scratches. The paint is in
excellent condition. The interior is very clean as well with really no signs
of wear on the seats or carpet. The leather has no signs of wear at all. The rims are the upgraded alloy factory
type - with no road rash. The tires are only 4 months old - according to previous owner. This vehicle was very well maintained and it shows. Brakes are great. Oil is fresh. A/C blows cold. Bearing in mind that it is a previously owned vehicle, this car is in really
good condition and will provide years of reliability. Minor issues to address: Mechanically, the car is in terrific shape. It needs a flex pipe on the exhaust - typical for Toyotas of this vintage. Normally, I would have had this fixed but I didn't have the time to do so. I have had it priced at 2 different mechanics - it should run about $150 - the part is $30 the rest is labor - minor fix. Keep this in mind for bidding please. This vehicle is being offered for sale “AS-IS” because of year and miles. Watch this video diary of a 900-hp Toyota Supra build
Sat, 08 Jun 2013If you've ever looked at a car with nearly 1,000 horsepower and wondered why anyone needs that amount of thrust, you may want to take a look at the video below. In it, one gentleman details his descent into Toyota Supra madness, starting with a pristine factory example and stumbling down the rabbit hole of modification. What makes this particular clip interesting is just how honest the owner is as he explains the evolution of his car. He doesn't just prattle off a list of parts like he's reading the menu at an IHOP.
Instead, he painstakingly pulls us through the car's growth, detailing each iteration and what pushed him to the next stage of the build every time. From this point of view, it looks less like someone walked into a shop and lit a massive stack of $100 bills on fire and more like a quasi-logical progression of events. Or at least it does to me. Toyota confirms i-Road electric trike for production
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The wacky, three-wheeled Toyota i-Road we saw in Geneva earlier this year will be heading to production. But before you run down to your local Toyota dealer looking for one of these all-electric "personal mobility" vehicles, chances are, you'll never actually see one unless you visit Japan.
Announced at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) expo last week, Toyota said that the i-Road would be used as a part of the Ha:Mo car-sharing system in Japan. Weighing in at around 661 pounds, with a 28-mile-per-hour top speed and a two-passenger seating arrangement, the i-Road seems more like a fully enclosed scooter than a car, but it does offer a 30-mile driving range and has a nifty articulating front suspension that leans into corners. As for Ha:Mo, Toyota says that the number of cars in the program will increase from 10 prior to October 1 to 100 by the middle of this month, and the number of stations will almost double from 13 up to 21. HQ move based on study, not pitch from Gov. Perry, Toyota says
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Toyota's surprising announcement on Monday that it will move its North American headquarters from Torrance, CA location to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX is allegedly not due to any political wrangling from the state's Republican governor, Rick Perry.
Perry (above) has been up front in his aggressive pursuit of businesses and jobs for Texas, traveling to California, Missouri, Illinois and New York to tempt corporations to his state. And it's not just about the promise of much lower taxes, a Perry spokesman reminds Automotive News that the state boasts, "a workforce that is skilled and ready to do any job."
For his part, Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American CEO said Plano was chosen through an internal process, with the location helped by its proximity to the company's massive pickup factory in San Antonio rather than any campaigning from the governor.
