Toyota Fj40 Land Cruiser on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:87700
Location:

Eden, Utah, United States

1970 Toyota FJ40.  This is a very original FJ40. It has a factory installed "Power Take Off" 9,000 lbs winch, and factory installed dual gas tanks. It has 87,700 original miles.  It runs, drives, and stops as it should. I have an original Utah title in my name. This a dry Utah FJ40. It has a small amount of rust in the rear (please look closely at the photos), but it is not covered with bondo or any diamond plate. This is a fully optioned FJ40, and is very complete.  All of the original seats are in place as well as all of the badges. It has a large Jack and Tow Bar. You can drive to Utah and hook this to any tow vehicle and head for home.

I want the new owner to know exactly what they are bidding on.  With this in mind, I will list in detail the areas of the FJ40 that need attention. 1. There is a minor rust issue on the rear panel on the driver's side. 2. The original seats are tattered and will need attention. (The original headliner is in very good condition)3.  The engine runs good with no unusual sounds or smoke. 4. The passenger's side top window is broken.

This is a useable FJ40 that can be on the road with very little work.  Again, please look closely at all of the photos. I have super sized the photos to assist in evaluating the condition.

Please look at my Ebay feedback scores, I want the new owner to be completely satisfied with the FJ40.  If you have any questions, please give me a call.  I'm love old cars and I will gladly answer your questions. My home phone number is (801) 745-0599.  If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks on ebay, please email me or give me a call before bidding.  The reserve on the FJ40 is less than its value.

Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell coming to US Northeast in 2016

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Looks like someone was able to read the future back in July. That's when rumors first circulated that Toyota's upcoming fuel cell vehicle will be called the Mirai. Today, Toyota president Akio Toyoda confirmed the name alongside plans to build out a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the US Northeast.
In Japanese, mirai (??) means "future," which is a fitting name for a car that Toyota believes represents the direction the auto industry will go in the coming years. In a promotional video announcing the name, Toyoda said, "For [Toyota], this isn't just another car. This is an opportunity - an opportunity to really make a difference. And making a difference is what Toyota is all about."
To help that future come into existence, Toyota CEO Jim Lentz also disclosed the vague outline of a fuel cell infrastructure investment that Toyota and partner Air Liquide will make in a five-state Northeastern corridor that consists of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. The Mirai will be available there in 2015 and Toyota is going to build 12 stations in and around New York and Boston to support the launch. More details will be available later.

Toyota recalls 690,000 Tacoma trucks for rusty leaf springs, fire risk

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Toyota has announced that it will be issuing a recall of 690,000 Tacoma pickups from model years 2005 through 2011. The affected vehicles include both the four-wheel-drive model and the two-wheel-drive PreRunner (but not the standard 4x2 pickups), which may have a rather serious problem with their rear suspensions.
In some cases, corrosion and stress could cause one of the three or four leaves in the rear suspension's leaf springs to fracture. While the trucks can still be driven with a broken leaf, Toyota is concerned that it could move out of position and impact other components in the rear of the truck, with a particular focus on the fuel tank. Needless to say, but a piece of metal continuously impacting anything, let alone the fuel tank, is cause for concern.
As of this writing, there have been no reports of crashes, injuries, fires or deaths due to this problem, although that won't stop Toyota from informing all affected customers of the issue. Those 690,000 owners will need to report in to dealers for inspections and, if necessary, repairs.

Toyota updates Euro-market GT86 suspension, appearance

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

While we were busy ogling the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 with its Yuzu yellow paint and a workover by Toyota Racing Development, and the Japanese Toyota 86 buyers were trying out their Playstation-compatible Sports Drive Logger telemetry system, the European 2015 Toyota GT86 got fitted with some new parts of its own. New on next year's model are stiffer mounts for the front suspension and rear shock absorbers, and new shocks in the back for better damping and less friction. Toyota says the result is sharper steering and less body roll.
Inside, the instrument panel and center console get decorated with a "carbon-fiber motif." There are new shades of pearl white and silver to dress up the outside, and the roof gets a shark-fin antenna for sharper looks and aero. It goes on sale this summer, and you can read everything we just told you in the press release below. We've reached out to Scion to see if we'll get the same upgrades on the FR-S this summer, too, company PR rep Nancy Hubbell telling us, "The European changes are among those being considered for the US model FR-S and we'll have final confirmation soon."
