1969 Fj40 Land Cruiser 4 Speed 2f Engine Front & Rear Disk Brakes Old Man Emu on 2040-cars
Nisswa, Minnesota, United States
Up for sale, Early 1969 fj40 with many upgrades to make this truck a worry free turn key and drive land cruiser. In the past few year the truck has gone through Professional mechanical restoration. The Front axle is a completely rebuilt including knuckles heavy duty disk brake conversion which was not a option in 69. The rear axle also rebuilt with a rear disk brake conversion done correctly including proportioning valve, dual reservoir and all new brakelines. Suspension is a new 2.5 old man emu lift. Transmission is a strong freshly installed 4 speed with new clutch. The engine is a easy starting 2f engine with low miles that is equipped with a new carburetor, distributor. The body and frame is very clean with no problem areas to metion as the truck when I bought it was a complete frame off with out the mechanical work being completed. This truck is no 200,000 dollar Icon nor am I pricing that way, on that note it's not a project either. It's a very strong driver that I would have no problem getting in and driving states away or using it for a cruise at the local car show. If you have any question or want to view it please contact me. I will keep my schedule free for showings and test drives this week. As any auction your bid is for purcase not to come look at it. Please come and inspect this vechical yourself or hire a local mechanic to inspect the FJ40 Thanks for looking. Enjoy the photos.

Toyota casts off in Ponam-31 motor yacht [w/video]
Sun, 12 Oct 2014Some Japanese automakers focus purely on cars, while others dabble in all sorts of motorized transportation. Honda, for example, makes everything from motorbikes to jet aircraft. But while Toyota may be known principally for automobiles, it also makes a line of boats. And this is the latest.
The new Toyota Ponam-31 motor yacht is built around an aluminum hull with a flybridge and cockpit rear deck layout, similar to the Carver 32 on which this writer spent his childhood summers. It measures 31 feet overall and is powered by a pair of 3.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engines derived from the Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX 460) but marinized for nautical application. Toyota has even equipped its new Sports Utility Cruiser with such features as Drive Assist and a Virtual Anchor System.
Toyota expects to sell around 15 units of the Ponam-31 through its network of 49 dealers across Japan, with prices starting at 29,700,000 yen (about $27,500 at today's conversion rates). Scroll down below for a video, along with a press release, meant to show potential customers what's waiting for them.
Toyota FV2 Concept is a single-seat mood ring for the road
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Of all the vehicles Toyota brought to the Tokyo Motor Show, the FV2 might be the most creative. The minimalist single-seat concept is a glimpse at Toyota's idea of a "fun to drive" vehicle in the future.
The FV2 is essentially a pod with a diamond-shaped wheel array (what powers said wheels has not been disclosed), and Toyota says that the technology of the vehicle allows it to gauge the driver's mood and suggest possible destinations. The interaction between driver and vehicle is also displayed in an augmented reality screen on the windshield, and the car can also act as a mood ring of sorts with exterior colors and patterns that can change based on the driver's mood. We can just see it now: "Don't mess with Jim today, his car is red."
Scroll down for a brief press release on the FV2.
2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 3
Thu, 27 Jun 2013The third practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is done. While the other classes got running time on the middle and top sections of the course, qualifying times were set on the bottom section of the course for the Open, Open Wheel, Electric, Exhibition and Vintage classes.
Everyone managed to keep it on the black stuff today, Greg Tracy setting the fastest time ahead of Hiroshi Masuoka, both men driving the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II four-wheel-drive prototype. Not even half a second behind Masuoka came Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Monster Sport E-Runner, who has taken about 18 seconds off his time since the first practice day. Rod Millen was the fourth fastest on the day in his Toyota TMG EV POO2.
Topping the Open Wheel class was Clint Vahsholtz, followed by Donner Billingsley, Andy Figueroa and Rodney O'Maley. The only driver in that class not to be given a time today was Dan Novembre. Kenshiro Gushi took the Exhibition class today as his Lexus IS F CCS-R made it up the mountain in 4:27.248, followed by Sage Marie in the Honda CR-Z at 5:19.591. Simon Pagenaud and his Honda Odyssey weren't classified.
