1977 Toyota Fj40 on 2040-cars
Lexington, Virginia, United States
This 1977 Toyota FJ40 was bought in Arizona. It is 100% rust
free. I changed the engine to a Chevy V-8 crate engine. New 5 speed H55 Toyota transmission
with V-8 Toyota transmission bell housing adapter, Metal Tech Full Cage welded
in frame, Duel Tanks, Duel Exhaust, new Warn winch 10,000s, new AC with heat, well I spent $80,000 so I
could go on and on. I have all invoices on all work done and I am happy to tell
you anything. I put $80,000 into this FJ40 and she is in like new condition with less than 850 miles, she is beautiful with her original straight frame and her original rust free body. I have hundreds of pictures and will send you what you need to see. Most of the work was done by IRON PIG in Fredericksburg Virginia. They put many hours in her and did a beautiful job. This FJ40 is perfect. When I received her she just needed a little more help to get her perfect and I went over budget to get her right. Over budget is why I am selling her. Whoever gets her has a perfect FJ40 at the expense of me. There are few FJ40’s as solid as this one. This is a true BUYERS DREAM and a RESTORERS LOSS. Feel free to come and see her or ask me for more pictures. Thanks. |

Toyota TRD Pro lineup coming next week
Thu, 30 Jan 2014A mysterious Toyota commercial recently popped up on YouTube teasing a new TRD Pro lineup for the Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner, and now we're getting our first official word straight from the automaker on the matter. Courtesy of its Facebook page, Toyota is promising that the TRD Pro models will be introduced on February 6th, ready to "conquer the great outdoors."
This date just so happens to mark the first day of the always-truck-friendly Chicago Auto Show, so while Toyota isn't saying as much, we're almost certain the trucks will show up next week in the Windy City. It's not clear what sort of upgrades TRD Pro brings, but it definitely includes black wheels and a tweaked front end featuring a thick, single-bar grille and bold lettering in place of the stylized Toyota logo (shown above on the Tundra).
Scroll down to see the video, and head over to Toyota's Facebook page to see a teaser image of the 4Runner TRD Pro.
Toyota recalling 1.9M Prius models globally for software update
Wed, 12 Feb 2014Toyota has announced a set of voluntary recalls covering 960,000 Prius, RAV4, Tacoma and Lexus RX350 models in the United States to address two separate issues. Worldwide, Toyota will have to recall a total of 1.9 million Prius cars.
The Prius recall affects about 700,000 2010-2014 models in the US, due to a fault in the motor/generator control ECU and hybrid control ECU software. It says that the current software could result in high temperatures on certain transistors and possibly damage them. When it fails, the error forces the car into failsafe mode. Toyota says that in rare circumstances, it could even shut the hybrid system down while the car is being driven.
Toyota spokeswoman Shino Yamada told Automotive News that the software update should take about 40 minutes, and dealers would start to be notified about affected vehicles today. She also told them that the first reported glitch occurred in May 2011 in the US when the system overheated and the car entered failsafe mode. The affected cars were built between March 2009 and Feb. 5, 2014, according to Automotive News. Toyota says that it has received no reports of accidents or injuries caused by either fault.
Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.
