1978 Toyota Land Cruiser 2-door 330 Hp Chevy 350 V8 Crate Motor With Extras on 2040-cars
Fallston, Maryland, United States
78 FJ 40 in need of TLC
I purchased this Cruiser in 1999 from a private owner in California and had it shipped to Maryland. Within the first 1 year I had everything under the hood replaced including a new Chevy engine. Total cost of work was around $10,000.00 and I have all work/parts receipts for verification. Unfortunately, It has been sitting in my driveway since 2003 with very little running time and I have not had anytime to devote to it. Below is a detailed description of the vehicle. If you are local you are welcome to take a look at this vehicle. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I will do my best to answer. I can also be reached at 443-617-1492. Good luck and thanks for looking. There is a $300.00 Deposit Due at End
of Auction. The balance must be by
certified check or cash. Vehicle is sold as is condition. Fair amount of body rust as you can see on photos. Floor is rusted through under fuel tank in cab (pictured in photo.) Please note front passenger seat is not pictured inside the vehicle. It is sitting in the shed along with the wheels and in good condition like driver's seat pictured. Engine has very low miles since installation but has been sitting a while. Please note millage listed above is an estimate based on new engine running time. Last ran over a year ago. Have a new Holly fuel pump that needs to be installed. Suggest replacing fuel lines. This engine is a screamer that was professionally installed by a local speed shop. Sounds nasty with the Flowmasters and definitely turns heads. Have new oil filter and oil to go with it. Has lift with front shackle reversal. Recently bought 5 professionally painted, vintage Toyota wagon wheels but never got tires for them. You would need to either pick them up and get tires or bring your own wheels for transport. Seats have been reupholstered with new covers from Specter Off Road. Has older style replacement turn signals. Have original turn signals as well. Ignition key does not match door locks. They were not provided in previous purchase. Previous owner did original restoration. Have folder of receipts and pictures of original restoration. 330 hp Chevy 350 V8 crate motor Edelbrock intake manifold Holly 750cfm carburetor MSD ignition Ron Davis billet aluminum radiator Headers to dual Flowmaster exhaust Dual fuel tanks Poly replacement factory tank Replacement front seat covers Extras: Bikini top Truck style tail gate New headlight bezel Blitz fuel can mount for spare tire carrier Two compartment center console Misc parts |

2015 Toyota Camry
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Every car has its definitive year. Whether it be the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Mustang, or yes, even the ubiquitous Toyota Camry, 10.2 million of which have been sold since 1983, every car has its year. For the Camry, that year was 1992. With son-of-Lexus styling, a clear sense of purpose and a parent company that had hit its stride as the purveyor of faultlessly reliable family transportation devices, the Camry got its legs in 1992. It's a car that even your mom is likely to remember, even if she never owned one herself.
The Camry you see here represents the closest Toyota has come to emulating the magic formula that made the 1992 model the stuff of legends. Compared to the 2014 model, some 2000 of the car's 6,000 parts are new, most of them involving things you can see or touch (on the outside, for example, only the roof carries over from 2014).
It's not a full redesign, but nevertheless it's a stunning development considering the predecessor upon which it's based only survived two model years. That's a testament to both the hyper-competitive nature of the family sedan segment and the lukewarm critical response that the outgoing car garnered. But that's in the past now - after driving this 2015 model, we suspect the new car's changes will be thorough enough to continue pulling in new customers by the hundreds of thousands each year for the foreseeable future.
2014 Toyota Corolla and Tundra production underway
Fri, 02 Aug 2013After months of leaked photos and speculative reports, Toyota finally unveiled its 2014 Corolla to the world in early July at a star-studded California party. The confetti has been swept up and the champagne flutes washed and stored, and now the real work can begin: production. Toyota has announced that its new C-segment player has begun rolling off the lines at its plants in Mississippi and Ontario, Canada this week ahead of the planned start of sales in September. What's more, the refreshed 2014 Tundra pickup has also segued into production in San Antonio, Texas.
Corolla production in Mississippi is still a relatively recent phenomenon, with the plant having begun assembly of the outgoing model in the fourth quarter of 2011, while Toyota's Cambridge, Ontario plant has been churning out the compact volume king since 1988. Conversely, the Tundra has been in production at the Texas facility since 2006, and Toyota projects that the plant will build its milestone one-millionth new vehicle in September, right around the time the reworked fullsize pickup goes on sale.
Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R is road-going version of brand's racing technology [w/video]
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Did you know that the Yaris is Toyota's best-selling vehicle in Europe? That may help explain to us Americans why the car that's lowest on the company's totem poll here in the US got turned into an all-wheel-drive hybrid track monster for the 2013 Frankfurt Monster Show.
Called the Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R, this three-door pocket rocket isn't just a hybrid making a lot of horsepower - it incorporates technology from Toyota's TS030 Hybrid racecar that competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship series, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Yaris Hybrid-R packs a 300-horsepower, turbocharged, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine under its hood, which should be enough for most speed freaks, but Toyota pairs it with two 60-hp electric motors at each rear wheel (the same ones used in the production Yaris Hybrid that's sold in Europe). That makes total system output an insane-for-this-size 420 hybrid horsies.
But that's not all, as the Yaris Hybrid-R forgoes the traditional battery pack below the rear seats in favor of a supercapacitor, which can both hold more energy and has a much faster power charge/discharge speed than traditional batteries. Paired with the supercapacitor is a third 60-hp electric motor/generator positioned between the engine and six-speed sequential transmission. Its job is to feed the super capacitor energy during deceleration and direct its power to the rear electric motors when more grip and oomph is needed.
