CONDITION:

This Cruiser is in very good condition and runs good but could use a little TLC. Let me get the worst out of the way before the best!
  • One of the break lines i changed needs to be double crimped at the end. I used an old single crimper, so the system leaks off every two months or so (an easy fix).
  • There is a dent in the front right fender (both fenders are new however and have only 5000 miles on them).
  • I removed the old headliner so the inside roof isn't so pretty, in fact the whole top needs to be restored. Its condition is very usable but to finish off this cruiser the top and doors must be gone over.
  • The front doors are in terrible condition (the normal bottom section). I obtained a set of older doors w/wing windows several years ago and planned to swap them out, just never found the time. The older doors are not in excellent condition but are in good condition and come with the cruiser.
  • Trans. the original 1st gear has worn a bit and will pop out under extra pressure. I have an extra Trans and transfer case that I know to be solid, it also comes with the cruiser.
  • Cracks in the original dash.
On to better stuff
  • It has 5 new tires that are awesome tires (Goodyear Duratrac)
  • New Power steering pump
  • New Starter
  • Stainless Steel dual Exhaust back to the rear axal (new turbo mufflers).
  • New Carburetor (Edelbrock Performance series 500CFM 4 barrel)
  • New MSD high performance ignition/distributor
  • Rebuilt high output alternator (170 amps)
  • Link-arc Dual batt. system designed for a under the hood welding system (welder not included).
  • Winch; WARN M8274 with 150' of great cable.
  • Aluminum tub from British Columbia, Canada (nice thick Alum) that WILL NEVER RUST !!!!!
  • New polyurethane bushings and pins with grease fittings (some installed & some waiting to be installed).
  • Heavy Duty Rancho springs/shocks
  • Newly reupholstered front seats
  • New Centerforce heavy duty clutch plate.
  • New Voodoo Cam
  • Engin is a rebuilt Chevy 307 small block (1970) 200 HP with 5000 miles on it  (so cheap and easy to work on, no computers, no pollution control just the mere mechanical basics)
  • 4wd works great! High and Low range.
  • New gas tank
  • Stainless Steal bolts used throughout the body.

Tons of Extras come
with it.
  • Front doors with wings (Needs some glass and weatherstripping)
  • Trans/transfer case
  • Heavy front brush guard (not currently attached)
  • Large roof rack
  • Extra wheel
  • Nice Bikini top
  • Extra jump seats for the back
  • Extra rear heater
  • military rifle rack in back
  • Upper and Lower Sideband CB radio with Leniered
  • Tachometer
  • Boxes of small extra parts (too many to list)
HISTORY:

I bought this Cruiser in Fairfield, Ohio in 1989 and it has been my long standing friend since then. I did leave the country for a few years and transfured the title to my father for a short time incase something happened to me but it is in my name currently and has been in my possession since 1989. I am the 3rd owner (excluding my father) and it has always been in the Greater Cincinnati area since it was bought new. The second owner was a young lady that became pregnant and was afraid it would be to rough a ride for the baby thus sold it to me. I met the first owner when he recognized it one day shortly after I had bought it. It has always been a great vehical and a daily driver up until last year when I got a very badly needed small truck. I don't have anywhere to store my old friend and cannot afford the extra vehicle right now. I am half heartedly selling it in hopes that someone else will take care of her and enjoy her for many more years like i have.

Race Recap: 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans defines 'endurance'

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

Commenting on the rush of events that rocked beginning and end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Paul Truswell of Radio Le Mans said "the race is about the ability to endure, not just the ability of drivers to do what they do for a long time." The entire race machine, all the way down to the pit boards and radios, has to survive the stress and abuse of the entire day. This was the race to prove those words.
There were two Toyotas, two Porsches and three Audis, five of the seven led the race at some point, six of the seven ran in the top three. Toyota will be hugely disappointed that it didn't win when its car and drivers were so, so strong, but they gave Audi the kind of scare we haven't seen since the best of Peugeot's days, and Toyota did a better job of it even in the loss. Porsche blew away everyone's expectations, falling 3.5 hours short of a fairy tale ending that would have made Disney cry.
But Le Mans doesn't really do fairy tales. Well, not that fairy tale. Audi's Twitter handle during the event was #welcomechallenges. As usual, Le Mans answered for the entire field.

2014 Toyota Corolla shows its new Euro-spec nose [w/poll]

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

After tons of teasing, Toyota finally unveiled the all-new 2014 Corolla in the wee hours of the - at least to those of us here in the Midwest. The fresh new face of the US-spec car takes a number of cues from the Camry and Avalon sedans, and in S trim with the large alloy wheels and blacked-out front fascia, we'd even venture this is the most boldly styled North American Corolla to date (faint praise as that may be).
Of course, our friends in other markets will also be getting fully updated versions of the Corolla as well, and here, we're getting our first glimpse at the European-spec car, complete with a very different front fascia that, at least in this trim, seems to take a more conservative design approach. A quick poll of the Autoblog staff shows that we're torn as to whether or not we prefer this European look to our North American-specific car, but at least in the sporty-ish S trim, we think the Americans may have got the better end of the deal.
The Euro-spec Corolla actually shares a lot of its design with its larger platform-mate, the Auris, a car that we don't - and likely won't - get in the States. Inside, the European Corolla looks basically the same as the NA car, and while market-specific engines and specifications haven't been released yet, it's expected that the Corolla will share much of its dirty bits with the European Auris, as well.

Toyota celebrates 30th anniversary of Land Cruiser 70 with Japan rerelease [w/videos]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

It's a common refrain among auto enthusiasts to bemoan the current models being sold for being overly complex and expensive and to wish that automakers would just make vehicles like the old days. Sure, they might not have been as safe or efficient, but there was often a certain rugged simplicity that's gone today. Well, Toyota is actually doing it and thinks there's enough demand to put the Land Cruiser 70 back into production in Japan for its 30th anniversary. Sadly, it's only for one year.
The original Land Cruiser 70 served a long life in Japan from 1984 to 2004. Even today, the proven model remains in production in some regions abroad. People in its home country still love the vehicle though, and Toyota is brushing off the mothballs to give customers what they want. For the first time ever there, it's also offering the double-cab pickup version in addition to the traditional enclosed body. The company thinks that it can move about 200 of these classic trucks this year, which isn't too shabby for a vehicle that's three decades old.
Looking at the pictures above, these look like the same old Land Cruisers, but Toyota is updating them slightly to meet modern safety rules. The grille, hood and headlights are all tweaked, and they now come with airbags and anti-lock brakes. A 4.0-liter V6 is under the hood making 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts) and 266 lb-ft of torque (360 Newton-meters), and the only available gearbox is a five-speed manual. Part-time four-wheel drive is standard. If you're really afraid of getting stuck in the wilderness, locking front and rear differentials and a winch are available as options.
