The car is fully loaded.

Two key fobs, user manuals w/ case

I purchased this car November 8th, 2013 from prestigious Mercedes dealer for my wife. Unfortunately, she has to go overseas to take care of some family matter for a year. Since I don't need this car ( because I already have  3 cars), I'd like someone else to make good use out of it. It needs to be driven.

When I bought the car, I was told by the dealer that all the mileage is highway mileage and the car was maintenance by Toyota dealer only. After the car was bought, I had it serviced by a Toyota dealer (oil, filter and air filter on 11/14/2013). According to the Toyota dealer, the car has got a clean bill of health. When bought, it's got 109617 miles on it. Currently, it has 109866 miles on it. Although it's got a lot of mileage, Prius has been known to run forever with proper maintenance, so this mileage is nothing when it comes to the Prius. The car runs like brand new. It's always kept in the garage. Car Fax shows that car had a minor accident on 09/2012. However, it was a minor front bumper scratch only, but they had to report it for insurance purposes.

This Prius IV is truly a great car. The only reason I'm selling it is because we don't need at the moment. Whoever gets this car will get it for a good price and will enjoy driving it as much as we did. You must see this car to fully appreciate it.

Title in hand.

Toyota Camry re-earns CR 'Recommended' rating following crash tests

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

All is right again in the Toyota kingdom. The Japanese manufacturer's bread-and-butter sedan, the Camry, has been put back on Consumer Reports' "Recommended" vehicle list, following improved performance in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's crash testing.
You'll recall that the 2012 and 2013 Camry were infamously booted from the list due to "Poor" ratings in IIHS' notoriously tough small-overlap crash testing. Toyota vowed - just last week actually - to fix the ratings. As the Toyota brand's head, Bill Fay, said last week, "It's still a five-star car. It still does very well in all the IIHS tests. It did not in [the small overlap frontal crash test], and we're busy making the necessary adjustments so that we can address that."
Now, though, those redesigned cars have been tested, earning an "Acceptable" rating in the overlap testing. According to Consumer Reports, Camrys built from November 2013 on feature new internal structures that improve the car's crash test scores enough to make it a "Recommended" buy. IIHS has also elevated the car back to a position in its Top Safety Pick category, although it falls short of the new gold standard, the Top Safety Pick + rating.

NHTSA investigating 561k Toyota Prius hybrids for possible steering shaft defect

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will investigate some 561,000 Toyota Prius models for potentially defective steering shafts. The affected hybrid models are from the 2004-2009 model years. The story indicates that NHTSA is weighing whether or not to grant a defect petition, which claims that Toyota incorrectly assembled the hatchback's steering linkage.
As of this writing, there is no recall. However, a recall based on the Prius steering shaft would be the third related to steering issues for the model since 2006. Seven years ago, Toyota recalled 170K Prius models for potential cracking of the intermediate shafts, and in November of 2012, the automaker recalled 670K units to replace the steering shaft extension assembly.
We'll be monitoring NHTSA's signals to see if this investigation turns into a full-fledged recall. For now, stay tuned.

Consumer Reports calls on Toyota to recall older Camry Hybrid models

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Consumer Reports is calling on Toyota to issue an official recall of 178,000 Camry Hybrid sedans from model years 2007 to 2011, claiming that a pair of issues affecting the brakes are so dire they demand a more official action than what the company has undertaken so far.
The first issue, as CR tells it, relates to a clog in the brake-fluid reservoir filter, which if left untreated could lead to a number of dashboard warning lights. The "front brake assist could be temporarily lost," too, according to Toyota's own notice to dealers and owners of affected models. The company has issued a "service campaign" that will fit a new brake-fluid reservoir free of charge to any affected model brought to a dealer by June 30, 2017.
The other issue plaguing the fuel-sipping Camrys is being treated via a warranty extension, and focuses on the ABS brake actuator, a particularly expensive (both in terms of parts, at $1,000, and labor, around $3,000) item that is necessary for the anti-lock braking to function. There's also a related issue with the brake pedal's "stroke sensor," which like the actuator can lead to a very difficult-to-depress brake pedal. The warranty extension increases the coverage of the actuator to 10 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first).
