2000 Toyota Solara Sle Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, United States
I am listing this vehicle for a friend. It is a one owner vehicle. Title in hand. Vehicle is in excellent condition. Always serviced by certified mechanics and/or Toyota dealershiop with records of all maintenance which will be handed over to the new buyer. Some minor issues with the vehicle that are known to the best of my knowledge are the following: There is a slight burning smell from vents when heat is turned on. If control is placed on recirculate, then there is no smell at all. It only has a burning smell when placed on fresh air intake. Also, the mirrors on flip down visors are loose. Other than that, the car is mechanically sound, runs excellent and driven daily. Mileage may be slightly higher at time of sale. New brakes installed within the past year. Passed NJ State inspection recently and good for almost 2 years. Please feel free to contact with any questions. The vehicle is located in HoHokus, NJ. Shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Paypal deposit required at end of auction with remaining payment to be in the form of certified bank check or cash.

Tesla expects another higher-volume deal with Toyota in next few years
Tue, 09 Sep 2014Four months have passed since Toyota ended its relationship with Tesla Motors, in which the electric-vehicle specialist supplied full lithium-ion battery packs to the Japanese behemoth for its RAV4 EV rollout, of which 2,500 vehicles will be completed. Now, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has been heard suggesting that a future collaboration is likely within the next two to three years, and that it will probably be much larger than the last one.
Both Tesla and Toyota have sung each other's praises in the not-too-distant past, Toyota telling Autoblog back in May, "We have a good relationship with Tesla and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects." According to Automotive News, Musk said of the Japanese giant, "We love working with Toyota... We have a huge amount of respect for them as a company and certainly much to learn."
Interestingly, though, the two automakers have rather divergent strategies for eco-friendly automobiles. Toyota, as you're surely aware, is the clear-cut leader in hybrids and has thrown its massive support in the direction of hydrogen fuel cells, while Tesla has invested heavily in battery-electric technology and high-speed charging stations.

Autoblog Podcast #317:
Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011. You can take a closer look at the company's full press release below for more information.
