This is truly a one of a kind car. I bought her with the intention of showing her and getting into the "scene". But life has gotten in the way and she is not getting the exposure that she deserves. This car has been built with attention to the small details, you will not find a finer example of a MKIII Supra. With the widebody most people mistake this car for a newer exotic. This car is a show winner, she won Best in Show in the 2011 Northwest Supra Nationals. I have the trophys and they will go with the car. If you want a car that you will never see another one driving next to you this is it. If you want records I have a folder about two inches thick with about every receipt that has ever gone into the car. Over 70,000!! The car was appraised through a private appraisal company for 25,000 after the build. The chassis mileage is 173k but everything has been rebuilt or replaced. The engine was replaced with a JDM low mile engine and all the weak points were strengthened. ARP rod and head bolts, metal head gasket. The list below shows the amount of money invested in this car. You could have a 70,000 investment for a fraction of that price! This is a classic and the value is going up every year. Don't miss out on this one of a kind! For those who would throw out low ball offers, I am not in a situation where I have to sell her but feel that an exceptional vehicle like this should be with someone who can give her more attention and show her off. In the last year she has been under cover in the garage over 90% of the time. A couple shows and a drive every so often is about it. I'm not going to give her away... Toyota gives dealers permission to drop Scion, shows them FR-S droptop, Juke rival first

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

We recently heard that Toyota could be looking to shrink its network of Scion dealerships, and now Automotive News is reporting that the automaker has officially given its dealers the green light to dump Scion without any penalties. Currently, Scion has about 1,000 dealers, yet our report from August 8 quotes an industry analyst as suggesting a healthier figure would be between 350 and 500 outlets. But before its current dealers make a decision on whether or not to get rid of the youth-oriented brand, Toyota also showed off a couple potential future products in the pipeline.
The FT-86 Open Concept shown above was revealed back in March at the Geneva Motor Show, and AN says that an FR-S convertible was driven on stage at a recent national Toyota dealer meeting in Atlanta. There has still been no definitive word one way or another as to whether the droptop model will be built, but it could be a good way to follow up to the popular FR-S coupe. Another possible future product is a subcompact crossover, which was shown in drawing form at the meeting, presumably aimed at small CUVs like the Nissan Juke and the upcoming Honda CUV based on the Fit, a model recently previewed by the automaker's Urban SUV concept.

Watch the Muppets go for ice cream in a Toyota

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Do Muppets drive? We're not sure it's necessarily a good idea, but it's been known to happen. Fozzy called his hibernating uncle's Studebaker a bear's "natural habitat," and Doctor Teeth wouldn't get the Electric Mayhem very far without his band's psychedelically painted school bus. But how about Rolf in a 2014 Toyota Highlander?
That's what we got a glimpse of in the run-up to the Super Bowl, and the same combination (plus one Rizzo the Rat) that features in this adorably ordinary video below. Ordinary because it's just a couple of guys going out for an ice cream. Adorable because, well... they're Muppets. See what we mean in the surprisingly entertaining two-minute clip below.

Toyota and Lexus show off advanced safety research vehicle [w/video]

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

While Google and Audi explore the possibilities of autonomous vehicles, Toyota and its Lexus division are studying the intermediate step of vehicles equipped with a deep suite of technology that help drivers make the best decisions. Introduced at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Lexus advanced safety research vehicle is an LS sedan fitted with three high-def color cameras to detect objects up to almost 500 feet away, 360-degree Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) lasers that can detect objects up to 220 feet away, three radar units to keep track of other vehicles at intersections, a precision odometer on the rear wheel, GPS that estimates orientation and an accelerometer.
Currently testing at a purpose-built 8.6 acre urban testing ground at the Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Susono, Japan the Toyota research vehicle is being used to study how to make better drivers, as well as figuring out how to reduce crashes as the industry's journey through passive and active safety systems progresses. In the event of a crash, new rescue systems are also being tested.
Further investment is being put into the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that would use shortwave signals to harness information from the car and from other vehicles on the road, as well as roadside infrastructure and even pedestrians. Toyota reasons it could then build a picture of interactions and, for instance, alert the driver to a potential collision at a blind intersection.
