Engine rebuilt at 105,000 miles (Pistons, valves, timing belt, water pump, etc).  Odometer shows 130,000 miles, so there's about 25,000 miles on the rebuilt engine.  A lot of highway miles from driving city to city for school and work when my brother owned the car.   Past 5 years, I've only driven 2,000 miles each year because it's my secondary car.  The turbo has been converted from a twin to a big Sound Performance 71mm turbo (SP71).  Other engine upgrades have been added to properly tune the car and keep the engine cool.  Oil changed every 2,000 miles w/Mobile 1.   Dodge Viper GTS blue paint.  Garage kept.  Body and paint in excellent condition.  Body and interior tastefully customized.  Never touched rain.  Car tuned and drives great!  No problems.   Won many trophies in car shows: Best Car, Best Import, Best Wheels, etc.   This car has been in my family since the beginning from one brother/brother-in-law to another.   I had this car pushing 520 whp just to have bragging rights and was planning on pushing more after getting more upgrades done, but I'm not a racer.  So I re-tuned this car to around 400 whp at 15 lbs of boost.  This car is capable of more whp of course just depending how far you want to go with the upgrades.  This car has been well taken care of and babysitted to keep it in excellent condition.  This car was not abused because I don't care about driving fast and it's also a big investment of mine.  I just care about driving nice cars and keeping them clean.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Below is a list of upgrades/updates on the car.  I'm sure I'm missing some things to add to the list, but this is what I came up with for now.

Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.

Toyota reaches $1.2B unintended acceleration settlement in criminal probe

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

UPDATE: Just like that, Toyota has released an official statement confirming its $1.2-million dollar settlement with the US Attorney's Office. Our story has been updated to reflect this development and the automaker's official statement has been added below.
Toyota has reached a settlement over the criminal probe into its unintended acceleration problems, and the outcome is more expensive than first expected. The Japanese automaker has agreed to pay $1.2 billion to close the investigation among other settlement terms. The criminal inquiry focused on whether the company kept information from regulators and how it handled drivers' complaints about the problems, according to the sources.
Between 2009 and 2010, Toyota ended up recalling over 10 million vehicles worldwide over sudden acceleration fears. Fixes include modifying floor mats, gas pedals, and installing brake override software on affected models. In addition, Toyota made the latter standard on all of its new vehicles.

Toyota settles for $3M after being found liable in sudden acceleration case

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

A jury has decided that faulty software was to blame for a crash involving a 2005 Toyota Camry that killed one woman and injured another. This is the first time Toyota has been found liable by a jury in a lawsuit involving sudden acceleration claims. Toyota has maintained that driver error is the most likely cause for cases of sudden acceleration.
Shortly after the jury in the case, which took place in Oklahoma and centered around a crash that injured 76-year-old Jean Bookout and killed her passenger, Barbara Schwarz, reached a verdict that would see Toyota paying $3 million in compensatory damages, a confidential settlement was reached. The jury, which had found Toyota liable for "reckless disregard" for public safety, had yet to decide what punitive damages Toyota would face.
Toyota said in a statement, "While we strongly disagree with the verdict, we are satisfied that the parties reached a mutually acceptable agreement to settle this case. We will continue to defend our products vigorously at trial in other legal venues."
