Car in an original TT 6 spd and was black.
Went to a mustang Dyno on March 24 and pulled 572 whp on 93 octane. Fresh fuel filter and fuel lines were installed
a couple weeks ago.
I was told Carrillo rods and CP Pistons (likely not big pins) are on the motor. I do not believe it has billet
mains. This means the engine is good to ~1,000 HP.
The head has HKS cams, but I did not verify what size. I was also told it has aftermarket springs, retainers and
valves with a port job.
This is the lowest priced built motor single on the market as far as I can find.
The only real cons on this car from my perspective:
Sound system could be updated / upgraded
Ding / dent behind the targa would require bondo and paint for a proper fix. Hard to capture in pics
Would be nice to have a wideband O2 in car
I don't like the white face gauge overlays
Hood and pins that's a matter of preference
I did not check manufacture date on tires, but thread is good all the way around and I assume they are old (I
would be doing any Mexican highway racing with them)
I would have no concerns about jumping in this car and driving cross country while fueling up at any gas station
(with 93 Octane)

Toyota's production fuel cell car to cost between $50-100k

Fri, 03 May 2013

While the cost of building a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle continues to go down over time, reports over the last few years have steadily maintained that the first Toyota hydrogen-powered vehicles for customers should ring up for around $50,000. Company officials cited this figure way back in 2010, and have reiterated it in subsequent years.
So, while a recent Automotive News report about the cost of Toyota's 2015 Hydrogen car doesn't offer up any new figures, it does offer an interesting pricing wrinkle. According to the report, the "cost factor" for the hydrogen vehicles will be in the $50k ballpark, meaning the retail price could be anywhere from there, up to as much as around $100,000.

Toyota recalls 370k Sienna minivans, 10.5k Lexus GS models over separate issues

Thu, 22 May 2014

The year of the recall continues, but this time it isn't from General Motors. Toyota is announcing two, separate recalls affecting a pair of its models.
First, Toyota is recalling 370,000 Sienna minivans from the 2004 to 2011 model years that are registered or originally sold in cold-weather states. The problem is that the spare tire carrier assembly cable can be splashed by water contaminated with road salt and cause corrosion. There is a splashguard in place to prevent this, but it sometimes gets lost in "normal usage," according to the company. If the cable does break, then "the spare tire may separate from the vehicle."
This is actually the second repair for this problem for some of these vehicles. In 2010, Toyota issued a recall on 600,000 Siennas from the 1998 to 2010 model years. At the time, it installed a new splashguard and sprayed the area with an anti-rust chemical. However, according to Toyota spokesperson John Hanson speaking to Autoblog, the campaign worked for the 1998 to 2003 models but wasn't sufficient for the newer ones. For the latest recall, the vehicles are getting the entire cable replaced with a stainless steel unit and a new splashguard.

2014 Toyota Highlander greets the world with NYC debut

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

Toyota has pulled the wraps off its all-new, 2014 Highlander in New York this morning, giving Americans a first look at what is sure to be a heavyweight in the mid-size crossover segment.
The new third-generation Highlander will come with the buyer's choice of three different powertrain options. The base model will be powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel-drive. Next up the ladder is a 3.5-liter V6, also mated to the 6AT, which can be had with either front-or all-wheel-drive. Finally, the Highlander Hybrid will be equipped with all-wheel drive, its 3.5-liter V6 mated to an electric motor, all hooked up to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The automaker has not released any specs for fuel economy or output yet, though we're promised increases in both power and efficiency.
While not a revolution in terms of styling, Toyota has cleaned up the bodywork for the new model, offering a crisp, conservative look for the slightly larger Highlander. The vehicle is some three inches longer and an inch-and-a-half wider than the outgoing model, yet it has a lower roofline. Black plastic-clad wheel arches make an attempt to butch up the crossover, though to our eyes, the Highlander still has the look of a minivan around the rear view.
