2001 Toyota Tundra Limited Extended Cab Pickup 4-door 4.7l ***supercharger*** on 2040-cars
Davis, California, United States
I am the third owner of this vehicle, but it has a fascinating provenance! The original owner was a Toyota Dealer in Virginia who called up the factory and ordered a 2001 Tundra with every available option. That is why this vehicle has the leather, double-din premium sound stereo, walnut trim, and all the other goodies. When the vehicle arrived at the dealer, he sent it to his TRD mechanic and told him to put every available TRD option on the vehicle. They installed the OEM Supercharger, 9th fuel injector system, K&N Filter and intake system, Range Rover transmission with cooler to handle the 12,000 pound towing capacity, tow package, and a range of other options. All were done correctly and according to Toyota OEM standards so the vehicle passes smog with no modifications or problems! The guy I bought it from purchased it directly from the original owner with about 40k miles on it and drove it to Sacramento because of a job offer, but when he got here the pay wasn't as good as advertised and he ran into Tax difficulties, so he sold the truck to me. I registered it and paid the CA use fees and all that DMV crap you have to go through here in CA. I have always had it serviced by Toyota Dealers and have kept all receipts. There were two recalls for the vehicle that I was made aware of and both were completed by Toyota Dealers, except for the second one which upon inspection did not need to be completed. I've driven the vehicle to and from work in the Bay Area and have put lots and lots of freeway miles on it, but I think I've activated the 4WD maybe twice in snow in So. Lake Tahoe, so it has never been really off-roaded. I replaced all four Bilstein shocks last year and the K&N Filter at the same time. I've replaced all of the O2 sensors and the Mass Air Flow sensor in the last year because of a nagging "Check Engine" light that keeps coming on, but my mechanic has not been able to find any real problem even after replacing all of those, and the vehicle runs fine, so I'm not sure what that is about. I'll figure it out shortly. The windshield was replaced three years ago after a rock cracked it. The Transmission was flushed last month. I put $1200 worth of Goodyear 80k mile tires on it two years ago and have religiously rotated them and changed the oil every 6k miles. I think that's it, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

How new car shortages may impact your buying experience
Wed, 04 Sep 2013If you want further proof that the auto industry is bouncing back, look no further than the empty lots and forecourts of your local dealership. According to a story by The Wall Street Journal, continued high demand for mainstream cars is overtaxing automakers' ability to produce enough models. Several dealers interviewed for the story are reporting two-week supplies as opposed to the typical two-month allocations.
With sales expected to hit 1.4 million units when August numbers arrive shortly and incentive spending down to its lowest amount since January, these limited supplies are pushing prices even higher. For example, according to the WSJ, the average price of a Ford Fusion is up past $26,000. Unfortunately, it's difficult for manufacturers to increase production quickly. If it invests in its facilities, as many manufacturers have done, it risks wasting cash if growth suddenly slows. At the same time, the momentum gained over the past several years could be short lived if vehicle supplies continue to dwindle. "Manufacturers are in a precarious situation," notes Karl Brauer, a senior director at Kelley Blue Book.
Low interest rates and a wealth of desirable features are also allowing customers to purchase more expensive vehicles while justifying their higher overall price tags, a situation that is compounding supply shortages. Even now, during the annual end-of-summer clearance season, deals on new vehicles are remarkably difficult to come by. According to the report, the Toyota Corolla is in a self-inflicted state of shortage, as Toyota clears out inventory in anticipation of the new 2014 generation arriving in dealers. Ford's supplies should rebound as Fusion production comes on line at its Flat Rock, Michigan factory. The Chevrolet Impala, Honda Odyssey, Civic, and Accord and Subaru Forester are also facing shortages.
Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats
Sat, 16 Aug 2014If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.
Minivan market not what it used to be, but margins make up for it
Thu, 05 Jun 2014
Residual values for last year's minivans are higher than they were in 2000.
Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.
