1960 Volkswagen Beetle Restored on 2040-cars
Belle Plaine, Kansas, United States
Gorgeous 1960 Volkswagen Beetle. This is a very original numbers matching car. The restoration of this car was just completed about two years ago. During the restoration the car was taken down to the metal and repainted its original factory Mango Green. Very vintage, very cool! This car also has its original engine that was rebuilt approximately 15000 miles ago and this car runs and drives flawlessly. It is an absolute joy to drive! This car also received a new front end, beam to wheels as well as new brakes all the way around. This bug has good tires and was converted to a 12 volt system. It does need to have the wipers installed, they are new and will go with the car. As you can see the car is very straight with NO dents or dings. The interior was also done with new carpet and the original seats were recovered. The pans are rust free and solid. The glass is all good and free of any cracks or chips. The dash is perfect, uncut and free of any scratches but the new owner will need to add a radio. This is a very nice example of a very early bug that is ready for daily driver status or the car shows. Clean and Clear title in hand! We
offer a money back guarantee which is as follows, if for any reason you or your
representative are not satisfied with the quality of, or the vehicle is not
what you expected when you arrive to pick it up, we will refund any money spent
toward the purchase price of the vehicle. Guarantee is void once the vehicle leaves our

transport arrangements, either with the carrier of your choice or in helping to

hesitate to give me a call with any questions or concerns you have. I look forward to hearing from you. Dave 316-299-1596

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.
Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
Lamborghini and Bentley may hold off on SUVs so VW can conserve cash
Thu, 11 Oct 2012After surveying the European economic scene, Volkswagen may have decided now is not the time to launch utility vehicles with Bentley and Lamborghini badges. Bentley officials say they will continue to push for support for the EXP 9 F and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman has said planning for the Urus will continue until VW tells it to stop.
That decision could come on November 23, when VW's board will vote on the company's budget for equipment, factories and vehicles. With VW's sales slowing and the Euro economy slumping further, some industry watchers say the company is more likely to build its cash reserves than to introduce super-expensive luxury SUVs or crossovers.
"Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis," says Frankfurt-based Equinet AG analyst Tim Schuldt in a new Automotive News Europe story. "Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs."
