Hello VW enthusiasts!  For your consideration, is this 1978 VW Camper Van!  Heres a great opportunity to get into a solid camper van at a very reasonable price..The reserve on this is set to sell!!  This is not a beat, rusty, smoking, tired van.. According to the previous owner, this van spent most of its life in California and was owned by a VW enthusiast. Very believable, as vehicles exposed to salt here are generally in very poor shape.  This is a van you can enjoy right now.  It has a recent 2.0L Porsche motor transplant and is running and driving very well. Previous owner stated the motor swap was completed in April and he has been driving it daily since.  The motor came from a local Porsche enthusiast who apparently had several motors to choose from.  Brakes, suspension, steering, trans-axle, electrical.. all seem very good.  Not to say it couldn't be better with some TLC, but it can be used as is right now.  Surprisingly, it is not dripping oil on my driveway!  The motor makes good power and sounds good.  I hear a exhaust rattle at certain RPM's.  This van will get up and go.. not like the early ones that just seem totally under powered.

It is originally a white with green interior.  It appears it has been somewhat recently repainted.. I would call it a "budget" paint job.  Not rattle can, but not a nice uniform smooth finish either.. Poor masking job too.  There is some rust in this vehicle and I've tried to photograph it from both sides where possible.  The only rust hole I have found is in the passenger side step/floor (see pic). The rest of the front floor area looks great, previous owner sprayed primer down, it looks and feels solid.  The ugliest rust/repair area is on the passenger rear wheel arch, (see pic) the bottom of the sliding door is not as bad as it appears.  I tried to crawl around and photograph the under side to show that it is in really good shape.  Serious bidders, please ask for any additional pics you may want.  Panel fitment seems factory to me.  Door open and close correctly, windows roll up and down.  All 4 corners and the nose look great.  The roof is in great shape too.

Interior looks like it has a custom finish on the cabinets. Cabinets are in good shape, all opening and working as they should.  Looks to have most of its original green drapes intact and still in good shape.  Rear bed cushions have staining but are in good shape.  Passenger door panel is peeling.  Headliner looks like it had vinyl or something that has been peeled off of it.  Front seats are not comfortable at all.. In fact, the drivers seat may be dangerous to sit on!  Dash is in nice shape.  Lights, horn, blinkers, gauges all work.

I expect questions from serious buyers.. So, please feel free to call me, I am willing and able to do a walk around while on the phone and take whatever pics you may need/want via my iphone and send them to you... Furthermore, I am willing to pick you up from the airport for you to inspect the vehicle yourself, or meet with a local in the area.  The van is not insured, so I dont want to drive it. Title is a clear Utah title in the previous owners name.  NEW EBAY MEMBERS WITH LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING OR I WILL LIKELY CANCEL YOUR BID.   Thanks and good luck!  Jason 801-897-1822

VW updates Scirocco with revised styling, new engines

Sun, 16 Feb 2014

The Scirocco is undoubtedly one of the better-looking models in the Volkswagen lineup, but introduced back in 2008, it's now been on the market - some markets, anyway - for the better part of six years. VW is said to have an all-new replacement in the works, but before that arrives, the German automaker has announced a facelifted version with revised styling and a new engine lineup.
Set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the new Scirocco benefits from updated styling front and rear, high-tech exterior lighting, a revised cabin space with some throwback retro touches, some new technologies and, of course, an array of fresh wheel options ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
The updated Scirocco will be offered with a wide array of engines right from the get-go, including four gasoline options and two diesels, spanning from 125 horsepower all the way up to the 280-hp Scirocco R. The 2014 model hits European showrooms in August, but unfortunately isn't any more likely to make the transatlantic voyage Stateside than the version it replaces. Still interested? There's plenty to see in the high-res image gallery above and details in the press release below.

Volkswagen offers Beetle Classic, priced from $20,195*

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

The current Volkswagen Beetle already tries to be a fairly retro-looking ride by cribbing styling elements from the iconic original. However, for the new, limited-edition Classic model, VW is hopping into the time machine to grab even more vintage cues. The company is even cutting the price, perhaps in hopes of turning around flagging sales this year. You don't need to wait long for any of these upgrades either because the automaker says that the Classic goes on sale this week for $20,195, *excluding the $820 destination charge. That's $100 less than a bone-stock Beetle.
Starting as a standard Beetle with VW's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the Classic edition comes with a six-speed automatic and then adds some retro flair. It includes new vintage-look 17-inch wheels with simulated dog dish polished hubcaps over black spokes. It also comes with a rear spoiler, and the automaker is offering the model in Pure White, Black Uni, and Reflex Silver.
The interior mixes in a few more classic touches but includes modern amenities like a standard navigation system, satellite radio and multifunction steering wheel. However, the seats are finished in a two-tone design combining light brown leatherette on the sides and checked cloth centers, plus lumbar support for the driver's side. The shift knob and handbrake also get wrapped in leather.
