Great early bus project. Perfect to just replace whats needed and drive/enjoy.  The logos are from a roofing and sheetmetal service in Minnesota.

As pictured very complete and original with the usual low rust, and several bonus bullet holes. This isnt a bus you restore but preserve. The logos and fantastic patina pull the most weight at any car show.  The birth certificate from vw is intact and lists the still present rare options.......factory (rustfree) safari windows and the very rare cab mounted gas heater.

It is very rare for such an early bus to stay so unmolested for this long.  The original engine is not installed but is present and comes with to rebuild if necessary. All cool rare parts like the crankstart handle and associated crankstart bits are present, if there is anything missing we can locate it or sell to next owner..............this can only be nickel dime stuff and nothing over $100 value............the bus is very complete.

Some of the repair panels are present and honestly this is the same issue all early buses have.......lower 6 inch rust. This bus is unrestored and sold as is with no guarantee except awesomeness..

This bus we bought to restore or restore for a customer, we are currently in the process of closing the car chapter of our lives.  Over the hundreds of early porsche and vw cars we have owned and sold these last ones are of the best/most unique/rare etc..........and we have had some of the rarest of them come thru our little shop.

This 58 has a clean title and AS ALWAYS WE SHIP WORLDWIDE AND HAVE SHIPPED WELL OVER 100 CARS AND CYCLES WORLDWIDE WITH ONLY HAPPY TRANSACTIONS IN ALL THOSE TRANSACTIONS

Please ask any and all questions 503 819 8233 cell, text etc

Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.

YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). You can watch all five in order below.

Help a couple drive their 1984 Vanagon around the world

Meet Brad, Sheena and Nacho
Driving through China is a pricey proposition. The couple will need to pony up a staggering $19,514 just to cover the fees.
Brad and Sheena Van Orden are in the midst of a life-defining campaign to travel around the world, and they're doing it in a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon custom built for the occasion. The past 15 months have seen the couple quit their jobs with Gore-Tex and drive from Arizona to the very southern tip of Argentina after spending a full two years saving and preparing for the trek. Now they're in southern Asia gearing up for the next leg of their journey.
