2001 VW Eurovan Westfalia.  This is the very last revision of the VW Westfalia ever made.  It has the fastest motor ever put in a VW camper van, the 24 valve VR6.  This is the second motor in this van that was put in by the dealer by the previous owner.  It runs great,  starts every time and recently completed a trip from Colorado to Virginia and back with absolutely no issues.  The trans has been recently serviced as well as a new heater core and inner and outer tie rod ends.   There is a 1 1/4' receiver hitch I put on to use my bike rack with.  It has never towed anything and has no trailer wiring but is nice for racking.  It also has artificial rain gutters mounted to run thule or Yakima roof racks.  The interior is clean and parts are functioning.  The rear bed works and is nice for winter camping,  the top pops nice and the loft bed is clean,  The only part of the interior missing are the armrest on passenger front seat,  easy replacement.  The windows are tinted dark in the back and I have the rear window and rear side window curtains.  The wheels are stock 16" alloy and have been painted black but could be removed if owner wanted them silver again.  The table and fridge both work.  There are several power ports throughout the van.  I have recently replaced the auxiliary battery and put the biggest one that would fit correctly.  The interior florescent lights work well and light it up nicely at night.  The second rear facing jump seat is included but not pictured.  it is in great shape because it has been out for extra space most of the time.  I have never owned a vehicle that was so versatile.  I love VW's.

Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip Tires, very little wear and very good on and off road.  This van has ESP traction control and does very well in the snow.  There are new front shocks and front wheel bearings on this Eurovan.

This is a stock VW paint job,  it has not been repainted. This is the GTI of VW camper vans.

This van is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Audi rumored to buy Alfa Romeo, officials deny it

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

For more than two years, Volkswagen has been making public statements about its willingness to buy Alfa Romeo and quadruple the Italian brand's sales, and for just as long, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has replied with some version of "Mr. Piëch, drop it." According to a report in Ward's Auto, all that jousting might be over: it claims that sources close to both Marchionne and Audi CEO Rupert Stadler admit that the two are in talks for Audi to buy not just Alfa Romeo, but a production plant in Italy. In fact, a final deal could possibly include partsmaker Magnetti Marelli.
Against that backdrop, a report by German news weekly Stern quotes a Fiat spokesmen as saying it doesn't comment on rumors and an Audi rep has said flatly that "There is no substance in the news." If a sale is being arranged, the timing would seem to point to how eager Fiat is to raise cash to complete its major initiatives. Even though Alfa Romeo continues to delay its return to the US, it just showed off the production version of the 4C at the Geneva Motor Show (shown above) and said that preferred Fiat dealerships here would get them. Then there's Alfa's recently concluded deal with Mazda to develop a roadster based on the next generation MX-5 Miata - a deal that would seem to help both the Italian and Japanese brands.
The monetary issues are troublesome, though. Fiat is taking a beating in the European market and its weak-kneed balance sheet is delaying gotta-have-it products like the Jeep Cherokee. Fiat has been talking to banks about getting money to buy the rest of Chrysler and those financial institutions have also raised issues about debt and cash reserves, and the nasty game of chess Fiat is playing with the United Auto Workers (and now the court system about the portion of Chrysler it doesn't own) could end up blowing another hole in Marchionne's plans. It is possible that this could finally have convinced Fiat to at least see how serious Audi's parent company, Volkswagen, is about buying Alfa Romeo. Or it could be just another rumor.

CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over

Mon, 03 Sep 2012

After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.

VW launches special edition Touareg X

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

Volkswagen is no stranger to special editions, but its Touareg SUV has remained largely unspecial in terms of exclusive trims or unique packages. That's changed with the announcement of the Touareg X, a 1,000-unit run based on the V6 TDI Lux trim - mid-range diesel model, between the navigation-equipped TDI Sport and the TDI R-Line.
The already special Touareg gets 19-inch "Moab" wheels, LED taillights (to go along with its LED DRLs) and "Touareg X" badging, while all 1,000 units will be painted Moonlight Blue Pearl. Tweaks in the cabin are equally light, with a black-on-black-on-black color scheme dominating - black Vienna leather, a black headliner and piano black trim. Aluminum bits make an appearance in the form of the door sills and pedals, although that's about it.
Other than those few aesthetic tweaks, the Touareg X is equipped largely like the Touareg Lux on which it's based. That means navigation, a panoramic sunroof, power seats, LED running lights, dual-zone air conditioning and heated power seats, among other tech pieces. Pricing starts at $56,170, making for a slight bump of $1,195 over the standard Touareg Lux.
