Vehicle runs and drives. Check engine light is on. Air bag light is on. Purchased vehicle from auction. Only owner because van was flooded at new car dealership and only moved from auction to auction until we owned it. Many electrical issues since vehicle was flooded. So far we replaced a DVD player, heater/AC control, engine computer, dash cluster(the original dash cluster only had 60 miles on it. The cluster we replaced it with we got from a junk yard with 8000 miles on it and have put a few hundred miles on it since then), key switch, 4 wiring harnasses: including the main harnass, air bag control module, steering wheel sensor, fuel pump, AC blower, liftgate module, ambient temp sensor and 2 oxygen sensors. The vehicle still needs all of the window motors, seat motors, and sliding door motors replaced. Also needs the navigation system replaced. The headrests on the driver and passenger seat need to be replaced because they are deployed from bumping it into forklift while unloading from trailer.
Options include 2 ceiling mounted DVD players which do work but there is no signal from the radio/dvd/nav. as that has yet to have been replaced. Equipped with back up camera which does not work. No GPS or Navigation system so no working radio. power moon roof and power rear lift gate do work properly.
Condition is good. We bought vehicle at auction with 60 miles on the dash. Water damaged so mostly mechanical issues. Flooded at car dealership when brand new. Minor scratches and scrapes on lower door trim, lower front fenders and bumper from loading and unloading into trailer and moving on tow dolly. No repairs have been done on body. Slight bubbling on leather interior, possibly from salt water, but may just be the texture of the leather. Titled as salvage from flood/water damage.

Anti-union group files lawsuit against VW and UAW
Fri, 14 Mar 2014The fight for unionization at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN, factory isn't letting up. Yesterday, the National Labor Relations Board decided to allow anti-United Auto Workers employees at the plant the right to defend voting down the measure. Now, a group called the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of five workers against VW and the UAW for allegedly working together to organize.
The group says in a release that it wants "to block further collusion between the company and the United Auto Workers." It alleges that VW forced workers to attend "mandatory pro-union meetings" and prevented managers from opposing. In a rebuttal on its website, the UAW called the claims "baseless" and said its actions were entirely legal.
One possible problem faces the carmaker in regards to the lawsuit. According to the Detroit Free Press, a recent US Court of Appeals ruling found that neutrality agreements like the one the business had with the UAW could be illegal if the company provided "things of value" to the union. The newspaper also claims that VW held a mandatory employee meeting concerning the election, but workers were free to leave during the UAW's presentation.
TN politicians may push to end VW incentives if plant goes union
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Volkswagen's Chattanooga Assembly Plant is scheduled to vote on whether to unionize in the coming days, but Tennessee state lawmakers are threatening to deny future tax subsidies to the factory, if the vote is successful. The factory is currently the only Volkswagen plant worldwide that is not unionized.
The states's Republican lawmakers have been particularly vocal against the union vote. Tennessee state senator Bo Watson said during a press conference that VW would have a "very tough time" with future incentives if the vote were successful, according to Automotive News. Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick said the "heavy hand" of the UAW is not welcome there. VW has drawn criticism from both sides because it has allowed both pro- and anti-union groups to speak to workers and hand out leaflets.
Roughly 1,500 factory employees will vote on whether to unionize from February 12-14. If successful, the Chattanooga factory would be the first in the US organized under a German-style works council system where white- and blue-collar workers directly negotiate factory issues with the company's management.
Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki
Tue, 02 Oct 2012Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
