- The engine runs strong and gets around 30mpg mainly highway, but I do some city driving too.
- Has been well maintained and as I said earlier I have the records in the service booklet.
- Always local to central Illinois and owners know each other. (So I know the history and that it was maintained well previously.)
- Transmission shifts really well and recently replaced the overdrive relay with a OEM unit.
- Newer cd player that works.
- Very clean interior with great seats and original all weather floor mats.
- Brakes are in good condition and tires all have good tread on them.
- Exhaust system is in good condition as well.
- All lights work except the dash lights, but I have LED lights placed there so you can see at night.
- The dash lights that i mentioned earlier, but like I said I have put lights there so it isn't an issue at night (also, they tun on when you turn the headlights on.)
- The car has heated seats, but they blow the fuse for them if they are on too long. Not sure why, but a mechanic said it is a ground issue i think.
- The body is not perfect, but the car is 24 years old. (Look at the photos)
- A/C does not work, but heat is great.
- The suspension doesn't have anything broken, but could use new lower control arm bushings and rear trail arm bushings. (priced at around $200 for both kits.)
- All of the dash instruments work, but the odometer and trip stopped working around a year and a half ago. My best estimate is the car has between 130,000-135,000 miles on it.
On Jul-26-13 at 09:08:40 PDT, seller added the following information:I'm sorry I forgot to mention that the hood is a little higher on the passenger side. This is an issue you see in many 240's because the hinge locks, but these have been oiled so you shouldn't have any issues with the hood.

This is Volvo's awesome S60 V8 Supercar entry [w/video]
Sat, 15 Feb 2014Australian auto news has been dire for the last several months with all three automakers that build there announcing they would stop production within the next three years. But Volvo is providing a shot of excitement with the unveiling of its new S60 racecar for the upcoming season of the Australian V8 Supercar series.
The Volvo S60 racecar will use a 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8 based on Volvo's B8444S production engine that will be tuned to produce roughly 650 horsepower on E85 ethanol. Power will get to the ground via a six-speed sequential transmission, and it will be able to reach 62 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 185. All cars in the series use common parts for the chassis, transaxle, and rear suspension.
Volvo's Polestar performance arm will campaign two of the S60 racers this season. While Volvo might seem like an odd inclusion into Australian racing, it actually has quite a successful history. It won the 1986 Australian Touring Car Championship in a 240 and won the Bathhurst 1000 race in 1998 in an S40. Polestar is not new to racing either, having been racing Volvos around the world since 1996.
Volvo developing new three-cylinder engine family
Mon, 25 Aug 2014Pop the hood on a Volvo of recent vintage and you'll find four-, five-, six- and even eight-cylinder engines. But the Swedish automaker is downsizing its engines over the coming years. The new XC90, set to be revealed later this week, will use a new family of four-cylinder engines (like the one pictured above). But that's not even the end of it as emerging reports speak of a new three-cylinder engine family in the works.
The new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine will, according to reports, help Volvo further cut its carbon emissions in line with constricting regulations in markets like Europe and Australia. There won't be quite as many versions as the four-cylinder range, which will include gasoline and diesel versions in varying states of tune, but the three-pot motor is tipped to be employed in vehicles as large as the S60 and its stablemates. Larger than that, however, and the three-cylinder engine apparently just doesn't have the necessary torque.
Expect the new three-cylinder engine to be introduced sometime later this decade, after the four-cylinder's introduction in 2016. The three-cylinder engine is also set to form the building block of an even more efficient hybrid propulsion system in the future, enabling this new engine family to stay relevant through 2025.
Two more Volvo Concept C Coupe teasers drop [w/videos]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Volvo is planning to take the wraps off its Concept C Coupe tomorrow ahead of an official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If you just can't wait until then, though, Volvo has released two more teaser videos for the new concept.
Like the video from earlier in the week, we get a couple more sneak peeks of the stylish two-door including our first glimpse of the interior. The highly conceptual concept likely hints at a future coupe for the Swedish automaker, and after dropping the C30 and C70 from its lineup over the last couple years, this can't come soon enough. Scroll down to watch both new teaser videos, and stay tuned to see more on this car tomorrow.
