1985 Volvo 740 Gle Sedan 4-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Boulder City, Nevada, United States
This is my 1986 Volvo 740 I'm the second owner of this completely original vehicle. The original owner is a client of my wife's and quit driving at 86. I've been using it as a daily driver since December 2013. It has performed flawlessly. I've put new tires(warranty transferrable 60,000 mile), stainless MagnaFlow exhaust, timing belt (it didn't need one), hoses and belts, serviced the transmission, changed oil 3 times to full synthetic, all filters including fuel filter, A/C compressor new and converted to R34 works perfect. The car was originally titled in California in January of 85 then moved to Arizona. It's never been in snow or salt. Built in Sweden November 84. It is 100% original and rust free. No accidents. Power windows (all working), power antenna (working), am/fm cassette (all working). I've put 10,000 miles on it without a single problem. No broken glass, no dents, dings,or major scratches. It has been garage kept since new. The interior has no rips and the carpet is like new. The head liner has some wear and small tears. (new headliner is around $200 if you choose to replace it). It has a manual sunroof which works perfectly and does not leak air or water. The motor is extremely clean and uses zero oil. The car is in remarkable condition. I would drive it anywhere without concern. The brakes (4 wheel disc) are at 90%. It has all original manuals and warranty records. If I had a bigger garage it would not be for sale.
On Jun-29-14 at 15:08:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I listed the exterior as blue and the interior as silver. It's the other way around. The exterior is Silver and the interior is blue. |

Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Something - we don't know what yet - is coming from Polestar. While we'll be recovering from next week's LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show (and starting to slack off ahead of an extended Thanksgiving weekend), the official tuner of Volvo products has announced plans to unveil its latest creation in less than two weeks.
Based on this video teaser, we can only imagine (and hope) that it's the souped-up Volvo V60 recently caught testing by our spy shooters. The idea of a high-performance Volvo wagon was already enough to get us giddy last month, but the exhaust note in this video is downright captivating. Scroll down to watch the teaser for yourself, and be prepared for some bright blue wagony goodness to be revealed on November 26.
Volvo PV444 turns 70
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volvo has made all manner of vehicles over the course of its long history, including coupes, convertibles, hatchbacks, sedans, wagons and SUVs. But the vehicle that started it all was the PV444.
Or rather, we should say, the PV444 is what re-started it all. Because while it wasn't Volvo's first model, it was the first one it produced after the war. Monday, September 1, will mark 70 years since the PV444 first debuted at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm pictured above, where the company received 148,437 visitors.
That presentation there took place shortly before the end of World War II when the vehicle wasn't even finished yet. A team of 40 engineers and designers were still fine-tuning the final version, but were eager to show the public what it would start building after the last bullet was fired and peace would return to Europe.
2015 Volvo XC90 mule spotted testing in the snow
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The Volvo XC90 was a big step for the Swedish automaker in 2003, but the midsize crossover has changed very little since its introduction. All that's about to change as Volvo starts its initial development on the 2015 XC90, which we see for the first time in these spy shots showing a cobbled-together XC70.
Like the current XC90, the next-generation model will be both longer and wider than the XC70 - judging by the modifications made to this mule's body - which will continue to allow Volvo's flagship crossover and provide three rows of seating. The next XC90 will ride on a new platform that will eventually make up around two-thirds of all Volvo sales, called the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).
Our shooter managed to find out the registration number for this mule, which indicated that it was powered by a five-cylinder diesel, but we expect the automaker to start stepping away from its current powertrains with a big push toward smaller engines courtesy of the new Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA). Rumor has it that the future engine lineup for the XC90 will rely heavily on turbocharged four-cylinder engines and eight-speed automatic transmissions, which will likely eliminate or lessen some of the current mills available like a straight-six or V8.
