I've got too many cars in the driveway and too many projects, so it's time to make some room.

It's a 1991 Volvo 940 Turbo Sedan. 218,000 miles and still going quite strong. Automatic transmission, power steering, ABS, A/C, heated leather seats, power driver's seat, power windows, power mirrors, sunroof, fog lights, and 16" alloy wheels.  In addition to Volvo's stellar reputation for safety and longevity, the 940 Turbo also has ample power and suprisingly good handling.  Rear wheel drive Volvos turn on a dime!  Fairly roomy and very comfortable, and a pretty big trunk, too.
Runs good and strong, recent timing belt replacement and a brand new battery. Previous owner replaced the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler with an aftermarket piece, which seems to work well and adds a bit of sparkle under the hood.  Tires are good.  Body is pretty much straight and rust free, there's just the usual minor dings and scratches you'd expect for a car this age.  No leaks or drips.   Aftermarket CD player and speakers, it sounds OK to me.  Interior is nice and clean, there are a couple of seams on the leather that need to be restitched.  The previous owner pulled out the headliner, but replacement fabric is available online or you can see about getting one from a wrecking yard. Clean WA title, tabs are good through September.

Sweden's Prince Carl Philip to race for Volvo in STCC

    Tue, 04 Dec 2012

Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte has it good. He is a member of the Swedish Royal Family, he dates a model and he has been voted by Forbes as one of the "20 Hottest Young Royals." If that were not enough, he is a fairly successful racecar driver. The latter has earned him a spot on the Volvo Polestar racing team for the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The prince will be piloting a race-spec S60 in the 2013 STCC campaign.
Starting in 2008, Prince Carl Philip began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, where he placed as high as 11th. In 2010, he finished first in the Porsche GT3 Endurance competition, and most recently, he placed fourth in the 2012 Swedish GT GTB.
As his motorsport career up to this point suggests, the prince is quite serious about racing and the STCC is the next step up. According to Prince Carl Philip, "There is no tougher championship in Sweden and at the same time as I have respect for it, it motivates me greatly." You can read more on Prince Carl Philip's upcoming campaign with Polestar in the press release below.

New Volvo ad remembers the joy of rear-facing jump seats

    Mon, 19 May 2014

With the rise in popularity of first the minivan and later the crossover as the default family vehicle, there have been about 20 years of children who have missed out on the joy of rear-facing jump seats in station wagons. It means kids today don't know the pleasure to be found in making faces or lewd gestures at other drivers while their parents can't see. Plus, they don't know the slightly nauseous feeling of watching the world pass by in reverse. However, a group of filmmakers look back with nostalgia at this increasingly uncommon automotive feature in a new ad for the 2015 Volvo V60.
As part of its sponsorship of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, Volvo commissions a team each year to create an advertisement to be shown during the festival. This year's shows how the company's buyers have gone from riding in the back to driving the brand's cars. Scroll down to check out the charming ad, along with some wistful looks at classic Volvo wagons, before the jump seat is forgotten.

Volvo brings a whole new 2014 showroom for Geneva's approval

    Wed, 06 Mar 2013

Sometimes it takes smaller automakers a bit longer than the industry average to rotate and freshen their product lineups. Volvo has taken a big swing for the 2014 model year in that regard, and has brought along a full product portfolio of new cars.
In the main, this means that the Swedish brand has fast-tracked facelifts for its already-attractive assemblage of sedans, wagons and crossovers. Volvo mainstays S60 and S80 have both gotten appearance modifications to freshen them for dealer lots, as well as added features inside the car. We're particularly happy to report that the spirited "60 cluster" models - S60, V60, XC60 - can now be had with optional paddle shifters on new, three-spoke steering wheels.
Below you'll find a whole bunch of image galleries of the revised Volvos, live and in person from the show floor in Geneva. For a bit more background on the Volvo updates, feel free to read our original announcement of the news or scroll down to catch the press release.
