We bought the car new in Windsor, Canada and pretty much loaded it up -- heated seats, Bluetooth, power everything. The car sold for over $35,000 new. It has NEVER been smoked in. The interior is in excellent overall condition with just normal wear. We've driven it 54,000 kilometers (33,500 miles) mostly locally in the spring, summer and fall in the Windsor and Detroit areas. The miles are low because we have stored the car during the harsh winter months, so it has not been subjected to snow, ice, salt, etc. Just one minor bump that was professionally repaired. So, she's good to go. The technical details: Economical and peppy 2.4-liter five-cylinder engine, five-speed automatic transmission, disc brakes on all four corners, traction control, anti-lock brakes, etc. Fuel economy around town averages about 25 mpg. Our car always been dealer-maintained and is in excellent mechanical condition. Recent dealer-performed maintenance includes rear brakes, oil change, etc. The tires are in great shape. There have never been any mechanical issues and the car has always been totally reliable. This is a Canadian-spec car, but it can be legally imported to the U.S. because it meets U.S. federal emission and safety standards. Documentation will be provided. Watch Polestar talk about the development of its super S60
Fri, 03 May 2013Polestar is getting ready to deliver its first production car, the Volvo S60 Polestar. Letting the S60 stretch its legs, Polestar Racing driver Robert Dahlgren took the blue sedan from Barcelona, Spain to Jokkmokk, Sweden - stopping for wet-weather testing in Germany along the way.
Dahlgren narrates the journey of the "pilot project" that has 350 horsepower and around 368 pound-feet of torque, and will perhaps be the first in an era of hardcore Volvo production cars. It will go on sale in Australia this Summer, with other markets "under investigation." While we non-Aussies wait with fingers crossed, there's a video below to enjoy.
Geely targeting US market in 2016 with help from Volvo
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Following reports that it'd team up with corporate sibling Volvo on a Chinese-market car comes a report from Bloomberg that Geely would reattempt its entry into the US market. The Chinese brand had a display at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, but has been absent from the US scene ever since.
The Geely branded cars will be jointly developed with Volvo, and bank on the Swedish manufacturers reputation for safety and reliability. Geely's CEO, Gui Shengyue, explained, "Our acquisition of Volvo enhanced our image and overseas consumers are seeing us as an international company." This represents a change in rhetoric for the brand, after Geely Chairman Li Shufu hamstrung the idea of a closer pairing, citing fears that an association would harm Volvo's reputation. The news of projects between Geely and Volvo first broke last week, although it's unclear if the cars that end up coming to the US will be the same as those being sold in China.
As we reported last week, Geely is already aiming to be the biggest brand in the Chinese domestic market. With this move to the US market, it's also attempting to overtake Chery as China's largest automotive exporter. According to the Bloomberg report, Geely has already moved 180,000 units overseas, which is extremely close to the 184,800 vehicles sold by Chery in 2012. By 2018, Geely anticipates that 60 percent of its sales will be occur outside of the PRC.

Around the turn of the millennium, Volvo seemed like the perfect automaker to make a crossover. It had, after all, already established for itself a reputation for building all-wheel-drive wagons for transporting families in safety and comfort. But while its competitors marched one by one into the luxury utility market, Volvo held out. That was, anyway, until the debut of the original XC90 in 2002. And it's never looked back since.
