Very clean 2005 Volvo S60 - Timing belt and water pump just replaced as part of regular preventitive maintenance. It's a beautiful car, you should really come drive this one if you are looking for a Volvo in this range. It has just over 99,000 miles but has been well taken care of (the car was my baby). I installed an Ipod adapter in the center console (this year didn't have ipod connectivity). Take a look at the picture and come for a drive - she's still a rocket ship that responds when you hit the gas. It has a really beautiful wood trim and a clean white leather interior which I love - in addition to all the Volvo features you would expect - automatic memory seats / windows, moon roof, front and side airbags, turbo engine, etc.

Car is of course being sold as-is, where-is although I can help you arrange for transportation if necessary.

A few issues -
- Driver's side rim has some damage to it - doesn't look terribly expensive to replace
- Some tar spots on paint - all smaller than a dime and not very noticeable
- Interior trim on door fell off - I still have part - just needs to be tacked back on
- One of the interior vents had a small piece broke off

Stolen first production Volvo P1800 recovered

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Late last month, we told you about a 1961 Volvo P1800 that had been stolen in Sweden. The thought of losing a classic coupe to an unscrupulous thief is troubling enough, but this wasn't just any P1800 - it was the very first production example minted, and the restored red-over-white two-door was owned by the vice president of the Swedish P1800 Club to boot. Chassis Number Two was pilfered from a Stockholm lockup on either August 21 or 22, and the theft triggered an international hunt of sorts.
Fortunately, that hunt has come to a (mostly) happy ending. According to Larmtjänst AB, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vehicle crime in Sweden, the car was spotted by someone who had read about the missing classic. The P1800 was recovered in Hägerstensvägen, a municipality of Stockholm, after being found abandoned on the road covered with a tarp. The owner is reportedly very relieved that his Volvo is mostly intact, marred only by a broken ignition and a dirty interior.

Volvo C30 Polestar Concept hits the 'Ring

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

It's been over three years since the Volvo C30 Polestar Concept was unveiled, driven by journalists and, as it turns out, lapped around the Nürburgring with Scandinavian Touring Car Championship driver Robert Dahlgren behind the wheel. For whatever reason, the video of the 'Ring track session was only published by the tuning company yesterday. (Another discrepancy: Did Polestar's C30 lose 46 horsepower somewhere along the line? Because the video states that it has 405 hp, while the company's website quotes 451 hp...)
Whatever the case, the tuned Volvo is a beast, much more so than the similar-looking, 250-hp 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition that was sold last year. With 451 hp (sounds better than 405 hp, doesn't it?), all-wheel drive, limited-slip differentials front and rear and Öhlins dampers, the Polestar Concept checks all of the right boxes for us.
For some reason, the video, which you can watch below, seems a bit vanilla to us. Perhaps the overly dramatic music takes away from the action and the beautiful sounds of the turbocharged five-cylinder engine?

How many other cars does it take to kill a Volvo?

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

We all know how safe Volvo cars are, but a European junkyard has decided to put it to the test by crashing, jumping and rolling the life out of an 850 wagon. While government tests use automated systems to crash new cars, the guys in this video do so with a driver behind the wheel. Aside from what looks like a safety harness and roll bar for the driver, it seems like this car is otherwise bone stock.
Not wanting to spoil the fun for you, we'll just point out that at the start of the video, our hero car looks pretty flawless, and by the end, well, let's just say the Craigslist ad for the car would say "needs some body work." Check out the video below to watch some stunts that even the Duke Boys might shy away from.
