Power comes from a carbureted 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and includes
14″ wheels, bright trim, chrome-finished bumpers, electric windows, electric sunroof, air conditioning, and
Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio, as well as a tool kit.
The cabin features seats trimmed in blue (Blau) leather with matching door panels, blue (Blau) carpets, and a black
dashboard. Other features include wood veneer trim, refurbished wood steering wheel as well as chrome trim
throughout, perfectly working air conditioning.
The 14″ wheels are finished in silver and wear polished BMW center caps and 205/70 Sumitomo tires showing 2010
date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm
tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six is equipped with dual carburetors and was factory rated at 180 horsepower, which is
sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Recent work since 2018 includes: Minor
corrections of paint flaws, replacement of motor and transmission mounts, replacement of the accelerator link
assembly, R&R ignition lock and a replacement of the horn contact brush Also included, is an oil/filter service
yearly, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic.

Tue, 12 Mar 2013After ninety years in business and first-to-market motorcycle innovations like the one-piece 'tunnel' crankcase, hydraulically dampened front forks and full fairings, as well as that trademark boxer engine, BMW Motorrad is celebrating its nonagenarian status with a video: You can follow the ride on BMW motorcycles from 1923 to now in just 90 seconds.
Okay, so there's more than a video - some anniversary-themed bikes and a new retro boxer model celebrating the R 32 "airhead' from 1923 also commemorate the occasion. But you can start with the video, and that's below.
BMW stripes up X6 M Design Edition
Tue, 24 Sep 2013There's something that makes red, dark blue and light blue stripes running up the fenders and down the flanks of a white car just that much more eye-catching. Whether it's a Martini Racing liveried racecar or something from the BMW skunkworks, they just draw long looks nothing else can. And here's the latest.
The BMW X6 M Design Edition upgrades on the standard X6 M with such special touches as 21-inch alloys, a carbon front splitter and rear splitter, black grilles and diffusor, and of course, those iconic racing stripes, which come as an option on this model.
The interior has been done up in black leather with Mugello red accents and piano black trim. Only 100 individually-numbered examples will be offered, and given that this one's wearing German plates, we doubt there's much chance many (if any) will make it Stateside. But then again, you could always spec up your own X6 M with most if not all of the same trim and forgo the little number plate on the dashboard.
BMW 1 Series dead for 2014
Fri, 18 Oct 2013BMW is temporarily abandoning the increasingly competitive and popular compact luxury segment, as it's announced that its 1 Series Coupe and Convertible will be discontinued for the 2014 model year, marking an ignominious end to a line that spawned a pair of excellent high-performance models during its life. Production on the Coupe officially ended in August, while convertible production was taken offline in June.
And while we're mourning the loss of the 1 Series, we're left wondering about the status of its replacement, the 2 Series. That car, which we've already seen inside and out and know the specs on, is expected to make its debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, although it's unclear just how quickly BMW will get it to showrooms. Assuming BMW doesn't have a bumper crop of already-built 2013 models to hold them over, that leaves Munich-based manufacturer somewhat vulnerable, particularly as Audi and Mercedes-Benz are both launching new models in the compact-premium space vacated by the 1 Series. Any delay in the arrival of the 2 Series could be bad news for BMW, especially if the public is receptive to the new Audi A3 and CLA-Class (early signs suggest that the baby Benz has traction).
In addition, BMW has made a number of changes across the rest of its lineup which are listed below in the official press release. Some of the notable changes, though, include a revised 445-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 on the 5 Series, a limited-edition Frozen Brilliant White Edition for the 6 Series and the rollout of a new, touchpad-equipped version of iDrive on a number of BMW models.
