CAR DETAILS

ENGINE
  • It has a 6-cylinder 2.5 liter engine. The engine runs excellent. There are no leaks. All service and maintenance has been done and up to date.  I use Royal Purple oil exclusively and always fill with highest available 91-93 octane.
TRANSMISSION
  • It has the factory automatic that goes into all the gears with no issues.

INTERIOR

  • It has a TAN leather and leatherette interior that is soft and supple. The carpets are in the trunk as to keep them from further wear and rubber mats are inside the car. Crack-free dash. The steering column plastic cover is gone.

PAINT AND BODY
  • The body is in great shape with original paint. IS front and rear spoiler, the front spoiler hangs down on the sides and has some paint missing from extending over a parking lot concrete divider. The fog lights do not work. I was told that they need to be connected. The paint is a little faded in some areas (see photos). The front bumper plastic passenger side reflector is intact, but the outer black moulding has broken. Some small rock chips in the front that represents a 26 year old car with 113k miles.
WHEELS AND TIRES
  • All tires with at least 90% tread including full size spare, factory BBS basket weave stock wheels in great condition.
ELECTRICAL AND ACCESSORIES
  • It has the factory A/C system that works great and blows cold. OBC light bulb is burnt out. Original Stereo with 6 disk CD player in trunk (wasn't working when I bought the car, might just need to be connected). Antenna does not go all the way down (stops half way) when radio off, but does go all the way up. Windows go up and down, mirrors motors are working, and the sunroof tips up and down and goes forward and back all the way.
EXHAUST
  • It has the original factory exhaust system that is in great shape.
BRAKES
  • Brakes were just changed.  However the sensors were not.

Evo pits BMW M3 against Porsche Macan in drag battle

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

If you want to move five passengers in very rapid fashion and you've got a $75,000 budget, two newly introduced four-door models immediately come to mind - both are the highest performing vehicles in their respective segments. But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
Which automaker's launch control system is better off the line? Does all-wheel-drive grip give the crossover the advantage it needs to overcome its adversary's power-to-weight advantage? Will aerodynamics factor into the results? Which would you put in your garage, and why? The video may surprise you.

Audi S3 pitted against BMW M135i in track battle

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Audi and BMW have long been enemies on both the road and the track, with their respective M and S/RS lines duking it out to the delight of auto enthusiasts everywhere. In this video from Evo, two of the rivalry's newest combatants take to the track - the Audi S3 and the BMW M135i.
The new Audi S3, which is finally coming to America, throws down with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. 290 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque are deployed to a Quattro all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed, S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission, allowing the five-door Audi to scamper to 60 in under five seconds.
The BMW, which Americans will know as a long-roof version of the new M235i Coupe, comes to the track with 320 ponies and 331 lb-ft of torque. That's a good bit more than the Audi, but the M135i has only two wheels to send its power to, an eight-speed single-clutch automatic (a six-speed manual is available) and a slightly higher curb weight.

BMW readying impressive track-focused M Power App

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

There are a lot of questionable automotive apps that people put on their smartphones these days, but BMW has created what could be one of the most useful and integrated car apps ever. The new M Power App, which will be available this summer only for Apple iPhones, allows BMW owners a whole new way to record their performance on the street or on a track. During the launch of the recent BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BimmerPost was able to get a full demonstration of how this new app works.
Far more involved than the current M Power Meter, the M Power App records data from in-car sensors and acts as a telemetry tool to allow drivers to see how they did on a particular track. Aside from an overlay on a track map showing acceleration and braking applications as well as head-to-head comparisons, the app also shows a line graph of everything from brake and throttle inputs to g-force, fuel mileage and engine speed. A small visual on the screen also shows steering angle, and lap times and speeds can all be stored as well. The data can even be shared with others, whether for bragging rights or instruction purposes.
This app works on any newer BMW equipped with the BMW Apps option, but the phone must be tethered to the car and the data understandably cannot be viewed while driving. Scroll down for the video demonstration recorded recently at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
