This is a very rare 1979 Seville Elegante. If you like the first series of Caddy Sevilles, the Elegante is the one to have. It has Two-Tone paint, special perforated Leather & Suede seats, a center console with "secretary" stationary table and several other nice touches not found on lesser model Sevilles. The Elegante package was a nearly $3k option when new...... I bought this car a couple of years ago and just put it in my collection in Kansas, where it has sat until 2 weeks ago when I had it shipped out to Cali. I don't know much about the history of the car as I purchased it from a broker out of NY. It would appear to have new paint, new carpet, upholstery, and tires. the headliner is good, but the material looks "thin"..The door panels are good with minor wear on drivers door panel, but nothing more than a little wear on armrest. The dash is good. the paint is very shiny, I don't know how old it is. It is NOT show quality, it is a very good driver quality paint, put on very thick for my standards. Some minor cracking in paint just below rear window trim. The chassis has ZERO rust, some new suspension bushings, and appears to have never been damaged. The chrome on the car is good, some minor pitting here and there as its a 35yo car, but again, VERY NICE LOOKING. The engine is an Olds 350 to my knowledge, and has been converted to a 4-barrel carb at some point. It starts, runs good, doesn't leak ANY fluids, but I'd recommend a full tune up and fluid changes before putting it back on the road.....The wheels are Caddy wire hubcaps, but the originals  should be Dayton wire spoke wheels, I do NOT have them, this is how I purchased the car. I was planning on doing a LSA engine swap into this car as a pro-touring sleeper. The RWD Seville is basically the same platform as a Chevy Nova, but with 4-wheel disk brakes and a few other nicer pieces (auto ride height).  This car would make a great addition to any collection, just needs to be properly brought back out of hibernation and enjoyed. Due to divorce forcing asset liquidation I must sell this car and several others shortly.  This is a very nice car, but it is NOT a $20k car, not yet. If you're a true car guy you WILL be happy at the Buy-it-Now price

2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport [w/video]

Bridging The Gap With Power And Poise
As you read these words, West Coast Editor Michael Harley is preparing to drive the brand-new 2014 Cadillac CTS along the gorgeous, sun-drenched roads of Southern California. And while I'll wait for Harley's full report before I put words in his mouth, I'm willing to bet he enjoys the hell out of Cadillac's new CTS. In fact, I'm sure of it.
I say this with confidence because, about a month ago, I spent the better part of a day flogging the new CTS Vsport around the 2.9-mile Milford Road Course - a challenging circuit laid out in the infield of an oval test track at GM's proving grounds in southeast Michigan. The MRC was built about a decade ago after Bob Lutz was lured out of retirement to work closely with GM's product development team, and thus, this circuit is known informally as the "Lutz Ring." The main objective of the MRC was to have an in-house facility for engineers to fine-tune vehicle dynamics, without having to constantly schlep cars over to Germany's infamous Nürburgring. (Of course, they still do.)

Cadillac confirms CT8/CT9 flagship, ELR successor

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

Cadillac has certainly been a hot topic as of late, what with Johan de Nysschen now running the joint, moving its headquarters to New York, and overhauling the company's naming structure (only to later publicly defend all of these drastic decisions). Now, looking ahead, de Nysschen is already revealing some details about what's in store for the future, including a raft of new products that include a large, long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival positioned above the recently announced CT6, along with a successor to the slow-selling ELR coupe.
In an interview with Reuters, de Nysschen says his company has "just signed off on" a new flagship tipped to be called CT8 or CT9. It will compete with the long-wheelbase versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series, and should come to market by the end of this decade.
Among other news, the South African executive said a followup to the ELR plug-in hybrid is in development, though it may not be a two-door coupe like the current car. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since the ELR has garnered nothing but slow sales and poor reviews since its launch.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V brandishes 450 horses and 6-speed manual

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Details about the hotly anticipated 2016 Cadillac ATS-V are tumbling out, and they look to be everything we could ask for in a high-performance Caddy coupe.
According to Road & Track, the ATS-V will use a version of the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 from the CTS Vsport, but the wick will be turned up to 450 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. In glorious news for driving enthusiasts everywhere, that potent mill will be available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
According to R&T, the engine has a heap of high-performance tech to let it make the extra ponies, including titanium connecting rods, two water-to-air intercoolers, titanium turbines for the turbos and an additional radiator dedicated to cooling the gearbox and electronically locking differential. Keeping it all planted are a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and a suspension with 50 percent more roll stiffness.
