1956 Cadillac Sedan deVille - 9,874 Original Miles
You are looking at an original, garage kept mechanical jewel from another era. I am the second owner of this
wonderful car and I bought it in 1973 with 7,744 miles on the odometer. As you can see, I've only driven it 2,100
miles in 42 years. During this time the car has been in a climate controlled garage and driven and started
regularly.
This lovely lady was originally purchased by an elderly lady in Washington, D.C. She sold it to me as she was
losing her ability to drive safely and as you can see from the mileage she drove it hardly. The evidence of her
failing ability are the scars the car bears on its right front fender and right rear quarter as she attempted to
navigate her one car garage. The scars were never properly repaired from when she damaged it over 50 years ago.
This treasure is original in every way; paint, interior and engine. Below I will list only the things that have
been repaired or replaced. It is a very short list. The car is so original it even smells like the 50's and my
childhood sitting in cars of this vintage. Look at the chrome, switch gear, seats and headliner. They are like new
and untouched.
If the car needs anything it is some paint work and use. I have not driven it because I thought the value would
continue to increase. Sadly, this has not been the case. My delay in using my treasure is your gain. She really
does need a new owner who will be willing to drive her, show her and love her.Items Repaired/Replaced

Is Cadillac working on an ELR-V? [w/video]

Mon, 12 May 2014

Could it be? Could Cadillac be working on an even higher-end version of its ELR plug-in hybrid? Well, General Motors' Executive Vice President Mark Reuss has gone on record as... well, not saying much. The exec was more than a bit coy on video (which you can view below) when asked about the idea of an ELR-V, although he did say that Cadillac was looking at "expanding the tuning envelope" for its plug-in coupe. What that means could be hinted at in these spy photos.
Cadillac is certainly up to something with this little red ELR. As is often the case, it's the car's enhanced brakes that give it away. Bigger binders are a telltale sign of sportier aspirations, and it's safe to say that rule applies with the ELR. The larger rotors and four-piston Brembo calipers are sourced from the Buick Regal GS, which we imagine would be plenty to bring the high-priced hybrid to a halt.
Obscuring those rotors and calipers are larger, double-armed five-spoke wheels. And, according to our spies, hiding behind that camouflage is a new grille. Outside of those two items, though, there's not much aesthetic change.

2013 Cadillac XTS [w/video]

The Cadillac Of Stopgaps
As confusing as most alphanumeric car names have gotten in recent years, at least one constant has been that the letter "X" is generally indicative of a crossover. Then why did General Motors use this letter on its new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan? Well, for that, we'll have to look to the world of mathematics where "X" stands for an unknown variable or a placeholder. Now we're talking. The XTS is just an interim product sitting at the top of Cadillac's four-door food chain until the brand gets a true flagship in place. That sounds like a lot of resources to spend on what will likely be a one-and-done model, but the automaker needed to get something - anything - to replace the DTS.
So here you have the 2013 XTS. A big luxury sedan that was created to bridge the gap between Cadillac's recent past and its pending future. Going into our week with this XTS knowing that it was a stopgap measure proved to be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we know (or hope) that this car will act as a baseline for future high-end Cadillac models, but at the same time, we couldn't help but be mindful of past stopgap models, albeit in more entry-level segments, like the Cimarron and Catera.
