You are bidding on a 1998 Cadillac Deville.  I am the third owner of this vehicle.  It was purchased as an extra car while we are in Ohio, but we will be moving to Georgia at the end of the month and cannot take the car. The body of this car is in excellent condition with minimal rust around the inside back wheel (not visible when looking at the outer body).  There are no soft rust spots at all.  I took the car to a mechanic and had a coolant flush, new rotors, brakes, and calipers on the rear.  The brakes and rotors on the front still have a little life in them. The undercarriage was sprayed with a rust converter, but the mechanic suggested that the fuel filler neck be replaced. One of the headlight covers is not clear.  As of recently,  the car has been running hot and there are some leaks.  The thermostat was replace a day ago, but there could be another cause for the overheating.  With that being said, I am selling this car below blue book value considering that it will need some work.  There are no dents or body damage. You will not be disappointed with the overall appearance of the car.  Please e-mail me with any questions.  Car is sold AS-IS. If purchased, I cannot guarantee that the car will not overheat, but the car is driveable right now. I will offer delivery of the car within a 25 mile radius.

2015 Cadillac Escalade

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

Cadillac has been an interesting story in the auto industry over the past several years. Its comeback bid may be well over a decade old, but it's only recently that the Wreath and Crest has transformed from the auto industry's retirement home into its hot new thing. Today's Cadillac is a powerful marque working to instill passionate design, sound driving dynamics and cutting-edge technology into each model it builds, with vehicles like the ATS and redesigned CTS leading the charge.
Now, its latest model has arrived. This fourth-generation Escalade is among the most important new Cadillacs since the division's renaissance kicked into high gear. It's the brand's de facto flagship, and the first vehicle many young people think of when hearing the name "Cadillac." In the past, the Escalade was the chosen vehicle of the rich, flashy and famous. It's suffered over the past few years, though, particularly as new and more luxurious competitors have come to the fore.
With this latest redesign, General Motors is aiming to retake the spotlight as purveyors of the market's premier luxury SUV. To find out if it's been successful, I ventured down to the South Carolina Lowcountry to test the all-new 2015 Escalade.

Cadillac ATS was almost front-wheel drive

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

"We were going to do a front-wheel drive Cadillac compact off of Delta because it was going to be less expensive," Doug Parks, General Motors' vice president of global product programs, told the Automotive News during the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. That sentence, referring to early ATS discussions more than five years ago - a period when the automaker, and the industry, was struggling - reveals that Cadillac's highly acclaimed rear-wheel drive compact sedan almost never happened.
Parks revealed that that automaker actually built a 2.0-liter test mule, on GM's Delta platform (shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano) and tested it in Europe. While the prototype was "pretty darn good," according to Parks, the team realized that in order to compete against Mercedes-Benz and BMW it would have to invest in a new rear-wheel drive platform.
The resulting all-new Alpha platform would eventually underpin the Cadillac ATS, and many would argue that its balanced rear-wheel drive chassis is its single most important attribute. Thankfully, the Alpha's goodness won't stop with the ATS. The upcoming 2014 Cadillac CTS and the future Camaro will also share its architecture, meaning the Cimarron will remain a distant memory.
