Nice 1972 Cadillac Eldorado, One Owner, Classic, Collector, Old Ladies Car, on 2040-cars
Lewiston, Idaho, United States
Up for auction is a nice one owner from new, 1972 Cadillac Eldorado in Royal Blue.
Yes! you have herd the stories of, the little old ladies car up on blocks. The story is true, you found it, and here it is!!!!! This Caddy was bought new in late 1971 by this family, in Boise Idaho. They picked it up at Miller-Stephan Cadillac, brought it back to Lewiston. The car has been loved, and pampered it all its life, but now it needs to go to a new home. The father has passed, and the mother is in a care center. The car has been on blocks for the past 3 years, and stored at the family's home. The house is up for sale, and the car must go. The car has power brakes, power steering, cruse, tilt telescopic wheel, power trunk, AM FM 8 track radio, power windows , power locks, and climate control. The air conditioner may need to be checked for freon. This car has been very well maintain through out its life, buy a affluent family. It runs & drives great. Tires are good, all glass is is nice, and chrome is bright. The paint is showing some age, and has been touched up in several places. The paint has a few nicks and scratches , but most will buff out. The gas tank was drained when parked, so started easy with new gas, when the car was taken of the blocks. The oil has been changed, and all fluids were checked. The interior is cloth, and is very nice, with only one very small ware spot, on the drivers side back lower cushion, center of the seat.( about one inch square.) You can not see the spot in the pictures, you need to be very close to see it. The car has never been smoked in, so the ashtrays never used. The dash, and other parts of the interior look new. The car has the AM FM 8 track radio, but I tried to play the radio, and I only got static. I did not have a 8 track tape, so do not know it the 8 track player works. The car has no rust, and has never had. All body panels look straight, and body fit is as it should be. I'm listing this Caddy for the family who are selling their mothers car. Buyer is responsible for shipping, and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end, and in anyway we can. For questions please call Bill (208)750-0000 |

Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
Cadillac ATS Coupe spy photos show more sedate two-door
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Remember when the Cadillac CTS Coupe debuted, and we were all like, "Oh hello there?" Well, don't expect the same thing to happen when the new ATS Coupe is unveiled - these brand new (overexposed) spy shots show a two-door that's decidedly more sedate than the angular yet curvaceous and all-around good-looking CTS Coupe. This isn't to say that the smaller Caddy Coupe won't be attractive - the four-door version is plenty pretty, to be sure - it just likely won't have that extra somethin'-somethin' to truly set it apart from the sedan.
Fine, then. We don't doubt that the two-door ATS will be just as enjoyable to drive as its sedan sibling, with a lot of the mechanical stuff likely carrying over unchanged. That includes the powertrain options, meaning buyers will be able to choose from the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four, turbocharged 2.0-liter four, or larger free-breathing 3.6-liter V6.
Look for the 2014 ATS Coupe to enter production in January of next year, meaning a reveal later this year (LA Auto Show, perhaps?) would be in order.
Online Find Of The Day: 2008 Cadillac XLR picks up where Excalibur left off
Thu, 23 May 2013We try very, very hard to keep snark away from creations like the one you see here. After all, someone poured plenty of enthusiasm, time and money into turning a 2008 Cadillac XLR into a modern interpretation of the new-old cars typically done by cottage builders like Excalibur and Clénet. Even so, it's hard not to wince when you set an eye on this machine. With its wheelbase stretched to accommodate the extra bodywork, goofy sidewalls and upkicked nose (examine it in profile, it looks slightly bent in the middle), this "neoclassic" takes whatever was loveable about the Cadillac underneath and buries it in a tacky grave.
Miraculously, the engine bay has been left unmolested, which means the retractable hardtop convertible still features a 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine good for 320 horsepower. If only that were enough to outrun its shame. If, for some reason, you feel like taking this thing home, Harry Kaufmann Motorcars of Milwaukee says it can be yours for a paltry $74,998. We wish were joking. Check it out here.
