This 96 Z71 is a rare find!! 5.7 350 Original Paint in GREAT condition for the age, clear coat is not cracking or fading! Paint job has good clear and is not oxidized. I have been professionally detailing cars for 17 years and I know good paint when I see it. The Hood has various imperfections but still puts off a great shine. It does not look brand new but for it to be the original paint job it is in very excellent condition. It has its fair share of scuffs, small scratches and blemishes but this truck has been driven, not locked in a garage. Interior is in near perfect condition. Carpet looks brand new!! A few very small tears on driver and passenger seats. Truck has never been wrecked and maintained well through the years. Truck runs perfect and has never in the mud!! Sounds good with true dual exhaust flowmasters. Nice chrome step bars too. I have had the truck on a lift and looked underneath it and can't find any evidence of being in the mud. Garage kept and l promise it will be very hard to find another 96 like this that hasn't been restored. That is why the price is where it's at so please don't offer me any low offers on this truck. Fresh service with brand NEW cooper All terrain tires!! DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS OF ANY KIND. Serious buyers only please. I have plenty of paper work on the truck. Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
