WOW!! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS SWEET 2001 MONTE CARLO SS. THIS CAR IS A LOOKER AND AT NO RESERVE, IT IS DEFINITELY THE ONE YOU WANT!!

I have a very nice 2001 Monte Carlo SS coupe available today. This car looks, runs, and drives great. This vehicle is FULLY loaded. Besides being the sporty SS pkg which comes with alloy wheels, ground effects, and dual chrome exhaust tips, you also get much more. This Monte Carlo has dual front leather, power, heated seats, power windows, locks, a/c, tilt, cruise, CD radio with the RDS info system, Onstar, digital overhead console with fuel econ data, temp, compass, and built in garage door opener. You also get a factory power moon roof, and 2 sets of keys and pods. I will describe this vehicle in as much detail as I can, but please remember overall, this is a used vehicle and as such is not perfect, and may require some work/investment to get it exactly as you want.

I will start with the exterior. This is a very nice looking car as you can see in the pictures. I see no evidence of collision or paint work. The paint sines nicely, all of the glass is nice with no cracks. The wheels are all in very nice shape, minor corrosion on a couple spots, but nothing out of the ordinary. The picture I took represents all wheels well. There are a couple of spots on the exterior that I would call more than normal wear. While I think they are certainly inline for a car of this age and miles, I want you to be aware of them. The first is on the bottom of the front bumper near the fog light. It appears it was bumped on something and it cracked it. This could be fixed by a body shop for less than 200.00 if desired. The next thing is on the inside of the rear drivers wheel well, there is about a 2.5" spot of corrosion. Not noticable unless you look in the wheel well. The passenger corner of the rear bumper appears to have been professionally touch up sprayed. It is shown in a pic, not really noticable unless you know it's there. Could probably be smoothed out with a good detail. Also on the bottom of both doors, there is a long scratch about half the length of the door, it is shown in the pic, fairly minor, and very low on the door. That is a very detailed description, more than you will get from most on Ebay, but as you can also see in the pics, this is overall a very nice looking car.

Interior is very very nice. The leather looks like it was barely used, the floors are very clean with no stains, and all of the dash and door panels are in good shape. All of the buttons seem to work. The only thing inside is on the gauge cluster plastic, there is a small crack under the oil pressure gauge. I tried to take a pic, but very hard to see. Doesn't effect anything. Inside is definitely above average for the year and miles.

Mechanically this is a good sound car. The engine runs good, doesn't smoke, no abnormal noises. The transmission shifts strong and smooth. This car drives great, brakes stop smooth and have plenty of pad left, and the tires are pretty much new, with less than 5,000 miles on them. The battery has an in service date of July/12. Good running driving car, no issues, drive it anywhere.

AGAIN-NO RESERVE!! HIGH BIDDER WILL OWN THIS CAR!

RE-LISTED 3 TIMES DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER, PLEASE DON'T BID UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO BUY. THIS CAR IS BRINGING WAY LESS THAN BOOK, THERE MUST BE A SERIOUS BUYER OUT THERE THAT WANTS IT.

So, those are the details. If you have any questions please ask, I would be happy to answer anything about the car. Payment and pickup is due within 7 days, and a paypal deposit of 500.00 is due within 48 hours. I have a clear title in hand, and you will get a title and bill of sale. Pickup is the responsibility of the buyer, I will help as much as I can with pickup or shipping, but that is ultimately your responsibility.

Thanks for looking, and good luck!!

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
