2005 Chevy 2500HD Duramax 4X4 was deveeloped by Kelderman Manufacturing. It was the official show truck to
promote the first Sprint Sound & Speed event in Nashville, Tennessee. The trucks biggest asset is the 12-inch
Kelderman air ride lift kit with Kelderman Straight -axle Dana 60 conversion kit. The extra clearance that the lift
kit afforded allowed the truck to roll with Nitto 405x15.50x22-inch Mud Grappler tires and Weld Racing 22x12-inch
Cheyenne wheels. To help turn all the rotating mass an AGR hydraulic assist steering system is installed.
Bushwacker fender flares keep the tires contained for legal street use. Billstein 7100 shock absorbers dampen the
cruise attitude while an Accu Air computerized ride control system ensures a smooth ride. Amp-Research Power Steps
make entry and exit much easier. To help move the big tires Kelderman installed a Banks-6Gun power system with a
Banks stainless steel exhaust. Inside the truck is a Kenwood audio/video system with four amps, 14 Speakers, six
video monitors, navigation, LED cab roof lighting, Floor mats with embroidery. Also installed Warn Winch, Billet
gas door, Billet door handles, Billet pedal kit, Headlights Diamond Style, HD Road Armor Bumpers-with Tire Carrier
and Winch mount, Xtreme rack/light bars, ARE bed cover, Optima batteries, VisionX HID Chrome lights, Hella Optilux
lights, Niho mud grapplers, 60" first responder jack, Banks Hi rise intake and Cold Air intake...... There is much

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
