1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, 2 Door Sedan
This car looks and runs great. It had a $3K tune up last month (receipts available) including the following: new battery with seasonal disconnect; new Holley 570, 4 barrel carb; new Edelbrock intake manifold; new electronic ignition; new MSD distributor; new MSD coil; new plugs and wires; oil change and fluids.
This is a post-type coupe with dual exhaust, aftermarket A/C, and a beautiful restoration inside and out.
The engine is a 350 V8 small block. This engine is not original to the car, but this was a V8 car from the factory. Automatic transmission is turbo 350, and it has the standard rear end. The windshield, trunk, and door weather stripping has been replaced. All trim pieces are in place and looking nice. The underside of the car is painted and looks great. Tires are P215/65R15, with lots of good tread depth remaining. It has manual brakes (4 wheel drum), manual steering.
The current owner has had this vehicle since 1998, and it is a turn-key car that is in top mechanical condition. Additional pics available upon request.

2014 Chevy Silverado High Country spied wearing trappings of new luxury trim
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Spy photographers have spotted the new Chevrolet Silverado High Country and GMC Sierra Denali out on public streets for a little testing. From the looks of things, the Silverado will receive a much-differentiated front fascia along with special badges and those honking 20-inch chrome wheels. Expect to find a more posh interior as well. Likewise, the Sierra Denali will wear a tweaked nose with the familiar Denali bling. The one of the GMC trucks spotted here rolls on 21-inch gunmetal wheels instead of the 20-inch chrome pieces of the High Country.
Word has it both trucks will go on sale after the Texas State Fair this summer. While General Motors hasn't said for certain what we can expect to find under the hood, we'd be surprised to see anything outside of the range of engines found in the standard Silverado and Sierra models. That means buyers should be able to get their hands on the efficient, 23-miles per gallon 5.3-liter V8.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
