1991 Black Chevy K5 Blazer Needs Work on 2040-cars
Snellville, Georgia, United States
i am selling my Black 1991 K5 Blazer .the truck is not running at the
moment. so it would need to be towed at your expense.it has a new
rebuilt 350 motor installed, i have an electrical issue after the motor
change that i have not had time to trace and fix and i am moving soon
and i dont feel like towing it to a new location.it has the starter
inside the vehicle but not attached at the moment. needs a battery and
either 1 fuel line repaired or replaced..the fuel lines are detached and
one has been burnt thru after it grounded on the frame.the other fuel
line is fine.body is in great condition. interior is in good condition
for a truck of this age. very little cracking of the dash driver side
seat has a small tear other than that all the plush seats are
great.transmission was replaced in 2006 it has worked great.new tires
were put on just before the motor went out so they have very little
usage on them. the driver side rear tire has a long valve stem due to
the orginal stem snapping in half when i stopped for air so i had to
replace it at a truck stop and thats all they had it also has a slow
leak around the stem but would take very little to replace.the old motor
had an oil blowback before i replaced it so the undercarriage has some
oil but a good steam cleaning would fix that. all and all she has been a
great truck and i hate to let her go i just don't have the time or
resources to put into her and i want a jeep wrangler so someone will get
a great truck that will last awhile.and i am sorry but the superman tag
stays with me :-).for anymore questions feel free to send me an email.

2014 Chevy Silverado priced from *$24,585, V8 gets better economy than Ford EcoBoost V6
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Chevrolet has thrown down the next hand in the pickup truck poker wars and revealed at least a couple of potential aces - depending on which numbers matter most to you. The 2014 2014 Silverado 1500 with its 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 gets 335 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a six-speed automatic, can tow 11,500 pounds with the optional Max Trailer Package and costs the same as the outgoing Silverado, $24,585 (*including $995 destination fee). Chevy says the Silverado also stands atop the fuel economy charts when comparing any competitor with a V8 engine - and some competitors with V6 engines. The two-wheel drive model returns 16 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, 19 mpg combined in two-wheel drive guise and 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined as a four-wheel drive.
For context around those numbers, the most fuel efficient V8-powered 2013 Ford F-150 pickups lose about two mpg in every metric compared to the Silverado, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost returning 16 city, 18 highway and 22 combined in two-wheel drive. However, that EcoBoost does have 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. You can get a Ram 1500 with a 3.6-liter V6 that gets 25 mpg highway, but it has 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 Ram with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and its 395 hp and 407 lb-ft drops one mpg in every category to the Silverado. Its tow rating is 200 pounds beyond its nearest competitor, the F-150 with the Max Trailer Tow Package.
Elsewhere, the new Silverado gets a quieter cab with a redesigned interior, a new bed with improved load-management possibilities, disc brakes all around, tweaked steering and suspension, along with free standard scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
