Unmolested 1975 K5 Chevy Cheyenne Blazer With Ultra Rare Safari Trim Package on 2040-cars
Ankeny, Iowa, United States
This K5 Chevy Cheyenne Blazer is an ultra-rare Safari Edition survivor. I have brochures that talk about them, but I have never, ever seen one for sale until 4 years ago (and haven't seen one since). I jumped on the opportunity to own this rust-free immaculate Blazer. It is the last year of the fully convertible Blazer. This vehicle has been stored in a climate controlled garage, only taken out on clear days and has only been washed with Dri-Wash. Everything on this vehicle is original excluding natural tune-up parts over the years. I can not articulate how nice this vehicle really is, so I will let the high-definition pictures tell the story. I am really torn about selling this vehicle. This will be the only time you see it on eBay. If it doesn't sell it will be my son's college graduation present (he is two-years-old). If it sells I will invest the $$$ in a college fund. Please let me know if you have any questions. This truck is sold "As Is" and the buyer will need to pick it up in person or have a shipping company meet me in Des Moines, IA. There is a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Good luck and happy bidding.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
