This is a project pro street Split Bumper Camaro I bought many years ago that never got done. The car looks like a 70 RS SS Split bumper car but is titled a 1977 (clean PA Title). All Steel Body. Fenders, Doors, Floors, hood and Deck lid are all original solid parts. Quarter skins were put on when the wheel tubs were added. I bought the body already tubbed with the roll cage and rear end already installed.  The title shows 1977 and the back section of the car is a 77. I put a 1970 RS Split Bumper front end on it. It has an S&W Racecars roll cage, Chassis Engineering Frame connectors, Koni coil over shocks, Chassis Engineering ladder bars, Frame connectors, wheel tubs, all new tie rod ends and bushings in the front. All steering linkage and steering column are there and working. Car has a solid body, nice doors and fenders, the floors are original. I painted inside the rear wheel wells, door jambs, inner fenders, and underside of the hood a maroon color about 10 years ago. Car has some surface rust because I had to let it sit outside a little this year but nothing bad. All glass is there except the windshield. This car has special factory Z28 wheels that the rears were widened. The rear tires were new at the time the car was tubbed but are dry rotten now, although they do still hold air. The rear end does not have to be narrowed if these wheels are used (the axle is 60 inches wide outside of drum to ouside of drum). The rear axle is NOT included with the car. It has a 69 Camaro 12 Bolt posi with 4.88 gears in it now and I want to use it in another car. The car is a rolling chassis but will not be when I remove the rear axle, I can assist in loading onto a trailer.

 Any questions, just ask.

I may have some additional parts to go with it.

The car can be viewed in Meadville PA 16335 before auction close.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

Chevrolet Cruze EV - Click above for high-res image gallery
The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
