This is a complete 1946 Chevy Panel Truck that I recently purchased from who I believe was the 2nd owner of the truck. He had purchased it in 1964 and drove it until 1978 when he parked it in the shed. His brother removed the coil to use on a tractor and when he went to put it back on he never wired it back up. The coil is still held on by one bolt and the 2 wires are unhooked. The truck was driven to where it was parked but has sat so long that the motor is frozen. I haven't tried to break it loose it may come loose with some work or it may need to be replaced or rebuilt. The truck rolls and steers fine. It is what I believe to be a complete truck there are still three hub caps inside it. The only thing is the rear door handle is apart and lying inside (it may be missing some of the handle pieces I never really checked He had taken it off and put a bolt through the inside so no one could steal whatever he had stored in the back. Also the passenger door handle does not work.  The title is in hand and is the original title from 1964 I think the vin may be 53-935 as this is listed as the SS. number. It does have quite a bit of rust to the quarters and the lower body. I tried to get good pictures so you can see it all. It is a project but it doesn't look to have ever been touched so you can see what your starting with and everything is there. This is for local pickup only. The buyer is responsible for all cost associated with pickup and delivery of this vehicle from 52323. Payment is to be made in full within 7 days of the end of the auction and the vehicle is to be picked up within 10 days unless prior arrangments have been made and the vehicle is paid for in full. I do require a 500.00 deposit immediatly after winning the auction just because there are so many non paying bidders on vehicles any more. If you have any questions or would like more pictures or to see the vehicle prior to bidding let me know. Thanks Mike

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
