1958 Chevy Apache step-side pickup truck. He has a lot of money into it, but our
reserve is very fair. The foam board was put in the one pic to cover the license plate. Now... let's get down to
specifics:
Engine - lightly built Chevy 383 stroker. My son bought the engine as a long-block, and it was built by a local
engine builder located in Everett, WA. It is not a racing engine, but it has a great sound to it with a mild cam
and runs flawlessly. All new headers, intake manifold, Holley carb, water pump, alternator, and a complete new
exhaust system. The motor has approximately 1000 miles on it, so it is just about broken in. No leaks anywhere!!

Transmission - TH400. Shifts great and also has new driveshaft hooked up to it.
Chevy rear end with a Ford front. Disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The disc breaks really bring it
down to a stop! It unfortunately does NOT have power steering.

The body is in very nice shape, but there is one very light ding on the passenger front fender that you can notice
when you look for it. It can probably be removed with the right equipment. The lines on the body are very straight
and no waviness when you look down the sides.
The interior is extremely comfortable with what we think is light cream faux-leather and really contrasts against
the black body. It really pops! New Auto Meter gauges, but the speedometer is a little off. All side windows are
new glass. It has a Kenwood CD/bluetooth sound system with (4) speakers behind the seat.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.
