2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Roadster Convertible
VIN: 1C3AN75N95X047176
81,000 miles

I’m absolutely in love with this car. I have a newborn, however, and he takes priority! That said, it’s not a newborn friendly car and has been replaced. Bitter-sweet for me, awesome for you!

It’s a Mercedes AMG under the Chrysler skin, and it’s amazingly fun to drive. Details to follow.

Crossfire History:
The vehicle was only made for a handful of years, and most estimates have total production at 75,000 – 80,000 vehicles. Of those, 2016 of them were SRT-6 models. Of those, 928 were roadsters (convertible). This vehicle is one of 928 ever made…and who knows how many are still out there on the road.

The SRT-6 model has some benefits over the normal Crossfire:
3.2L V6 – SUPERCHARGED engine
18-valve, Single overhead cam, Aluminum V6
330 HP, 310 ft-lb torque (Mercedes AMG Engine)
5-Speed Automatic w/manual shift capability (same as the SLK32 AMG)
40% firmer shocks and springs for much better handling
Larger vented brakes
Electronic stability control (that can be disabled with a button)
Fixed rear wing in the back
More aggressive chin spoiler in the front
P225/40ZR-18 front, P255/35ZR-19 rear tires
0-60 in 5.2 seconds
158 mph top speed (software capped)

Aftermarket:
Chrome Wheels (18? front, 19? rear)

Other standard features:
Rear Wheel Drive
Black Exterior
Black Interior
Leather + Suede Seats
CD Player
Anti-Lock Brakes
Driver + Passenger, Front + Side Airbags
Dual-zone climate control
Premium 240 watt Sound w/ 6 Infinity speakers and subwoofer behind the seats
Cruise Control
Power Locks
Power Windows
Power Seats
Power Convertible Top

New, this was a $50k car. Reserve is $10,500!

Known issues:
Normal wear and tear for this vehicle.
Cracked windshield, low to the frame and almost invisible…I don’t even see it any more (see pic)
Small dent in right front quarter near headlight (pic)
Silver coating on passenger inside door grip flaking a bit (not visible).

Chrysler 300 diesel could get green light

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

Word has it Chrysler is keen to shove its new turbo diesel V6 into a range of models. Wards Auto reports Chrysler President and CEO Saad Chehab has made it clear the automaker is investigating the possibility of using the 3.0-liter oil-burner in the 300. While speaking at an Automotive Press Association luncheon, Chehab said, "It's a matter of how much the customer is willing to pay for that premium. That's the only issue with it."
The Chrysler 300 is sold as the Lancia Thema in Europe complete with a diesel of its very own, and since the Jeep Grand Cherokee is now available with the diesel V6 here in the States, it only makes sense that the engine could potentially show up on the 300 order sheet. Opting for the 3.0 V6 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee will set you back an additional $4,500, however.
Chehab also said the engine could make an appearance in the next-generation Chrysler 200, which is set to debut next year.

Chrysler earns $1.7B in 2012, revises product plans for US

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

Hot on the heels of Ford's earnings announcement for the year that was, Chrysler today reported a 2012 net income of $1.7 billion, up substantially from the comparatively minuscule $183 million profit earned in 2011 when it repaid its US government loans.
Chrysler's good year ended with an excellent fourth quarter that saw net income rise 68 percent from $225 million in 2011 to $378 million. Where are all those extra earnings coming from? Market share, which Chrysler saw increase to 11.4% last year on sales of 1.65 million vehicles. In fact, the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker out-paced the industry's market growth of 13 percent last year with sales up 21 percent for the year.
The company also revealed an updated product plan for its Chrysler Group and Fiat brands that looks all the way out to 2016. It's an updated version of the plan introduced in 2009 shortly after Fiat took control of the American automaker, and includes such new additions as an Alfa Romeo model, likely the 4C, to be introduced in the US this year, as well five more Alfa models by 2016. Likewise, Fiat will be growing by an additional seven models in the coming few years.

Are you the 2015 Chrysler 300?

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

When Chrysler showed us its hand and revealed its five-year product plan to the world, we learned that the updated 300 sedan will bow at the LA Auto Show in November. Now, thanks to Allpar, we might have our first (super grainy) look at the new sedan a full two months ahead of its official debut.
Unlike its Dodge Charger platform mate, the new 300 isn't really all that different from the model currently on sale. That said, we're not sure if the changes shown here really reflect styling that we'd call "better," with the company's logo sort of floating at the top of the grille, and a more simplistic front end that lets the schnoz stick out a bit. Again, nothing drastic to talk about, but the new tweaks are kind of weak. Of course, we'll wait until we see the finished product in the metal before we make up our minds.
Don't expect things to change too much in terms of interior refinement or powertrain offerings, as well, with all the same leather and technology we've enjoyed in the 300 before, and the usual 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powertrain options. We'll know for sure when the car shows its freshened face in Los Angeles in November.
