1989 Ford Bronco Xlt Sport Utility 4wd 5.0 V8 Motor on 2040-cars
Farmville, Virginia, United States
1989 Ford Bronco XLT with 77,000 original miles. The truck is unbelievably clean and super nice. It has only had two owners and has been garaged kept its entire life. It runs and drives great. It is equipped with the 5.0 Motor. The engine could not run any better and the transmission shifts perfectly. The front end is very tight and the truck drives very true even at 65-70 MPH. Everything works on the truck including the cruise control, air conditioning and power windows and locks. The passenger side door lock sometimes does not activate but the drivers side always works. The rear window works at the switch and at the tailgate. The carpet and the seats in the truck are in like new condition. The original AM/FM Cassette works great as well.
The truck is virtually rust free. The ONLY rust is on the lower lip of the back tailgate. I have taken pictures of it. I have had several Bronco's before and I will say it is still totally on the surface and VERY minor. This is definitely one of the nicest original Bronco's I have seen. It looks great, runs flawlessly and drives fantastic. It is not perfect but is extremely nice and very clean. Please call me, text me or email me if you have any questions. (434) 390-6223. If you have 0 feedback, please contact me before bidding. If you do not contact me first, I will delete your bid. I also have the truck for sale locally. I have never ended an auction early but I reserve the right to. Thanks! |

2014 Ford F-150 gets CNG option
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Ford is toiling away, installing heavy-duty engine components into select 3.7-liter V6s to allow them to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in addition to gasoline. That's nothing new, but now, Ford has announced that it will offer the 2014 F-150 with this engine configuration, bringing the Blue Oval's total number of CNG/LPG-friendly vehicles up to eight. The F-150 will be the only half-ton pickup on the market that can run on these gases.
Ford will charge $315 per vehicle to equip the optional engine, but the trucks won't be ready to run on the alternative fuels straight from the factory and must be upfitted with additional equipment. A Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier will install a separate fuel system for the compressed gases at a cost of $7,500 to $9,500, depending on fuel tank size. With the right-size tank, the F-150 equipped with the CNG/LPG-prepped engine can go 750 miles on one tank of gas, according to Ford, averaging 23 miles per gallon.
The practice of offering flex-fuel vehicles is gaining momentum as businesses take advantage of cheap gas. CNG can be bought for $2.11/gallon on average (per gasoline equivalent), and sometimes for as little as $1.00 in some parts of the US, Ford states. "With the money saved using CNG, customers could start to see payback on their investment in as little as 24 to 36 months," says Jon Coleman, Ford's fleet sustainability and technology manager. The automaker expects to sell a total of 15,000 CNG/LPG-prepped vehicles in the 2014 model year.
Ford Focus Electric and ST recalled over lighting issue
Mon, 12 Aug 2013Ford is recalling 6,308 units of the 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric and 2013 Focus ST that were fitted with HID headlights because a "wiring incompatibility" could keep the front side marker lights from working. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall should begin in the middle of this month, after which owners can take their cars to dealers to have the wiring assembly repaired free of charge.
You can find more information in the NHTSA bulletin posted below.
Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
