2005 - Ford Other on 2040-cars
Bakersfield, California, United States
This is a 2005 Ford GT. It has approximately 57,300 miles on it which is somewhat unique for a Ford GT. In accordance with the miles, the car had a couple of small paint chips but the body is perfectly straight and there is no dents or dings in any panel. We are representing/selling this GT for a client and friend. At Cool Tech, we have serviced and or modified well over 150 unique Ford GT’s and we know these cars very well and we will be very straightforward with any prospective buyer regarding the condition of this car. The Carfax report will show an incident for this car – namely the Carfax says, “accident, car hit a curb” We think that may be a little bit modest and in our opinion the front left fender has been replaced – but painted perfectly to match the car. In summary, the “bads” on this car may be the Carfax incident and the mileage at 57K. However, there are so many good things about this car! In our opinion, it is a perfect driver’s car. The valuation if this cars keeps going up and up and up. As such, not many of them are really driven. But this car can be driven… and we want to provide our assurances from Cool Tech that this car is fully ready to be enjoyed!! This car has all 4 of the factory options. Painted stripes, painted calipers, macintosh subwoofer/stereo, and the optional BBS rims (now about $4500 each!). When the owner brought us this car he had a list of modifications that he wanted performed. We installed a rear bumper delete kit complete with our Cool Tech rear bumper delete exhaust. We did a full service on the car changing coolant and engine oil & filter. The owner reported a problem on 4th to 3rd gear downshifts. We test drove the car and determined that upshifts were always perfect but the 4th to 3rd downshift would almost always incur a brief grind. Clearly, just a 3rd gear syncro. But, as you may know, parts for these transaxles are simply not available so we purchased a brand new transaxle from Ford ($18,000). At the same time, we replaced both the clutch and throwout bearing. All of these components are brand new in this car. We retained the old transaxle and this will go with the sale of this car. I mentioned previously that we installed a rear bumper delete kit. All of the OEM components from the original configuration will go with the car. This includes the bumper, the frame horns, exhaust and the large screens. All of these items are in as-oem condition. We also replaced the rear diffuser as some of the bottom fiberglass edges had scuffs on them. The car is a solid car, fully serviced and ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.

New UAW boss Williams talks tough, vows 'no more concessions'
Sun, 08 Jun 2014Dennis Williams, the newly elected president of the UAW, had some tough words for American automakers in his inauguration speech at the 2014 UAW Convention, striking down the possibility of any additional concessions from the 400,000-strong union.
"No more concessions. We are tired of it. Enough is enough," Williams said during his speech. UAW employees have not received a raise in nearly 10 years, according to Reuters.
Considering the recent strong results for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, the union's demands are likely to carry a bit more weight in next year's negotiations. And considering Williams' tough stance, we could be in for some fireworks once negotiations commence.
Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.
Ford unveils next-gen S-Max in Europe
Tue, 16 Sep 2014Let's get this unfortunate though important tidbit out of the way right off the bat: The Ford S-Max isn't sold in the United States, and it's not coming here, at least not anytime soon. And so it's with our European friends in mind that we share this information about the next-gen S-Max (previewed about a year ago in concept form) that is set to debut all across Europe next year and will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Now, moving on...
As with the first-gen S-Max, the new model will boast seating for seven passengers, along with a decent amount of storage space, all packed into a relatively reasonably sized package. Powering the front wheels (or optionally all four) will be the buyer's choice of EcoBoost gasoline-turbocharged or turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines along with automatic and manual transmission options. Included in the mix is a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, though the 240-horse 2.0 is likely to be seen as the headliner.
There are all kinds of new technologies on offer, ranging from Adaptive Steering to Dynamic LED Headlamps with Glare-Free Highbeams, and it's all housed inside new, more sleekly designed bodywork riding atop a chassis with new suspension architecture designed to make the S-Max a people-hauler that's still fun to drive. For all the details, we suggest you scroll down below to read through Ford's official press release.
