Rod! This 1927 Ford Coupe has the right "Kustom Kulture Look" with just the right amount of patina. It starts and drives very well. It has a 1968 350 SBC V8
Motor mated to 350 automatic transmission. Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum
manifold. Moon Spun Aluminium gas tank. HEI distributor, 12V wiring harness with a chrome GM 80 amp two wire
alternator. Brass radiator with electric push fan keeps this Hot Rod Cool. The body is straight and solid overall. Shot in Rustoleum Flat Black. It has been chopped six inches and channeled three inches. Filled roof and molded in visor. Working deck lid and doors that open and shut. The windshield is the only glass in the car, not that glass is needed with the mail slot back window or side windows. The wheel wells and below deck lid show the only signs of rot on the body (see pics) non structural and easily repaired if desired. The interior is bare
bones but very comfortable (see pics). Padded seats wrapped in matching Mexican
Blanket Serape and carpeted floor mats over the all steel floor. Vintage Indy
steering wheel, Autometer gauges, and steel dash and drive line cover sums it
up. A lowered ride with Custom built 2x4 mild steel Z'd frame, Coil springs w/shocks, rear ladder bars, and panhard bar, 10 bolt Chevy rear differential. Up front we have split 36 Ford wishbones, axel and spring, shorty shocks, early Ford spindles with Camero disc brakes. The open drive line has a new drive shaft. New Coker Classics bias 6.70-15 wide white walls in the front, New Coker Classics bias L78-15 white walls in the rear on powder coated Gennie rims. This Coupe has many new and upgraded parts, well over 18K invested! Lots of accessories and kustom pieces. Car is titled as a 1927 Ford Model T Coupe, Drive as is or restore it!!! William Clay Ford Sr. dead at 88
Sun, 09 Mar 2014William Clay Ford, retired vice chairman of Ford Motor Company and the last surviving grandchild of company founder Henry Ford, died this morning after a bout with pneumonia. He was 88.
Ford spent 57 years with his grandfather's company, joining the board of directors in 1948 before graduating from college. Ford also held a position as chairman of the design committee, as well as the chairman of the executive committee and vice chairman of the Board of Directors during his tenure with the company. In a 2013 Detroit Free Press story, retired CFO Allan Gilmour said Ford had an eye for design, and was once able to pick out when a fiberglass model of a Ford Contour was asymmetrical, off by an inch on one side. He retired and assumed the position of director emeritus in 2005.
"My father was a great business leader and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the company and the community," said Bill Ford, Jr., Ford's current executive chairman. "He also was a wonderful family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, yet he will continue to inspire us all."
Ford settles class action suit over defective Navistar diesel engines
Fri, 25 Oct 2013The 2003 Ford F-Series Super Duty (shown above) introduced the 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel supplied by Navistar, and while that is an engine Ford would love to forget, it's now one step closer to putting that particular problem behind it. Automotive News is reporting that Ford has settled a class-action lawsuit brought on by problems with this engine that started right out of the gate and ultimately broke up the 30-year relationship between Ford and Navistar.
Owners and lessees of 2003-2007 Super Duty trucks and E-Series vans equipped with the 6.0-liter Power Stroke are eligible for deductible reimbursements of between $50 and $200 from the original five-year/100,000-mile engine warranty, while Ford is paying out as much as $825 for out-of-warranty engine repairs. These repairs may include the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler, EGR valve, oil cooler, fuel injectors and turbocharger, but are only covered if the components failed before six years or 135,000 miles.
In total, Ford has agreed to pay about 50 percent of the value of the repairs and deductibles paid by its customers who submit a claim before the end of this year, and $150,000 is going to the 16 named plaintiffs in the case; Navistar was not included in the lawsuit.
Ford Transit production fires up, American Pickers among first takers
Wed, 30 Apr 2014Not long ago, the History Channel showed a seemingly unending stream of World War II documentaries, but it made a switch a few years ago to include an increasing mix of 'reality' programming. American Pickers was one of the early attempts at this new formula, with cameras following hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz around the country in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as they tracked down collectibles and "rusty gold" for their Iowa shop, Antique Archeology. The show has since gone on to become one of the channel's most popular programs.
Starting in the new episode airing tonight, the affable hosts will swap their Benz for a 2015 Ford Transit, a nicely timed bit of marketing to coincide with the launch of the model's assembly at the Blue Oval's Kansas City Assembly Plant, which also kicks off this week. Ford is touting 2,000 new jobs created as part of its $1.1-billion investment in the plant.
No strangers to product placement, the guys from American Pickers say their switch away from the Sprinter is because they wanted to balance cargo capacity and fuel economy to make the most of their cross-country jaunts. They opted for the largest Transit available with a long wheelbase, extended body and high roof, giving them 487 cubic feet of cargo room. Hauling power comes from a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel engine with 190 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. Fittingly, the van wears the same Antique Archaeology logo over white paint as their old Sprinter.
