This was my Fathers 1969 Ford Talladega project car, it has a clean title. It is a rolling chassis, very solid with only small holes in the front bottom of the rear quarter panels and one hole in the trunk next to the fuel tank vent line in the rear corner, frame rail is NOT involved. The car has subframe connectors installed but they could be removed. The body is about 65% original Talladega with sections replaced and most if not all panels replaced show all spot welds in original locations. NEW: Front brake assembly's-----upper ball joints----fuel tank-----rear brakes and hardware---tires. The car has the wrong interior installed but if you want to keep the 69 Torino buckets the extra cross member is in the car but will need to be welded in. I have the original Talladega window sills and rear panels and the DASH PAD is in good shape with no rips or splits, sorry I could not post a picture because I was only allowed 24 total. Car comes with interior window trim and new headliner, most exterior trim, extra glass, NOS grille seal and clean Talladega paperwork. Car has original 31 spline 3:25 9 inch Nodular center rear axle installed. All glass is good in the car, windshield is not perfect but no cracks or chips. The engine compartment is very clean and painted. NO MOTOR OR TRANSMISSION. I have access to the original type C6 automatic transmission for the car with "R" servo and cast iron tail shaft with torque converter. It has been in storage since the 1980's and will only be available to the buyer of the car for an additional $1300.00. The transmission is not for sale any other way, it is not mine but I have made an agreement with the owner and will need advanced notice if you want it so I can go and pick it up. This car needs bodywork everywhere, was stripped mostly to bare metal and has a very light coat of primer on it just for storage. Rolls fine and the Emergency brake is functional. NEEDS FULL RESTORATION. Sold AS IS where it is. I WILL NOT SHIP, payment is cash on pick up withing 7 days of end of auction. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally for a much higher price than opening bid. Note: The big block engine mounts are in the car. I have both outside sports mirrors. The oil cooler mounts are there, no oil cooler, lower bracket has been repaired. I have the correct front coil springs. |

Ford wins second consecutive Engine of the Year with 1.0L EcoBoost [UPDATE]
Wed, 05 Jun 2013For the second year in a row, Ford has taken top honors in International Engine of the Year voting. As was the case last year, it is Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that earns the automaker the accolade, achieving the highest-ever accumulated score in the 15 years that the award has been handed out.
A panel of 87 automotive journalists from 35 countries are responsible for choosing the world's best engines, and this is only the third time an automaker has managed back-to-back victories. Voters were impressed by the "Baby EcoBoost" engine's power output - 123 horsepower between 1,400 and 4,500 rpm, 148 pound-feet of torque from 1,400 to 4,000 rpm - and its compact size; Ford has demonstrated that the package is small enough to fit in the overhead bin of a passenger airplane.
Currently, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost is offered in the European Fiesta, B-MAX, Focus, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, and Ford plans to put the engine in the Transit Connect, Transit Courier, Tourneo Connect, Tourneo Courier, Mondeo and EcoSport in short order. In North America, the Fiesta will be the first vehicle to offer the 1.0L EcoBoost later this year.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VII
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.
Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
