Today I am putting up for auction my 1955 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan. This Fairlane has a tremendously solid frame, with absolutely no rot and you would be very hard pressed to even find a tiny spot of scaley rust. The body is equally as solid, no rot or rust. Straight lines and a new paint job (completed 2007) with bold color give our Fairlane a sharp and clean look! The 272 cubic inch V8 was totally over hauled in 2007 from the bottom up. Step on the gas and that V8 does not miss a beat! The entire braking system was overhauled in Dec. 1994. The 2 speed Ford-O-Matic shifts extremely smooth and can also be easliy converted into a 3 speed if you so desire. I recently took my Fairlane on a roadtrip that was 300 miles round trip. I had not one problem, was a very smooth ride, I had to use the wipers and defroster the whole way without a hitch and I completed the trip on about $80 worth of fuel! This 55' Fairlane also came equipped with power windows as well as power seats, which was unheard of in 1955. There were less then 300 of these Ford Fairlane's ever produced with these power options! Very few dealers would stock a car of this caliber and was either a special ordered Fairlane or was a dealer principal's vehicle. This Fairlane was very exspensive for its day, no matter what make or model you were interested in buying. This 55' Fairlane was built in Sommerville Mass. I do have a clean Mass title that comes with this Fairlane and has passed all safety and emissions testing in the Commonwealth of Mass as recent as 2004. I do have some logs from the prior owner stating the day, time, location and distance the vehicle was driven. I also have a recommended maintance sheet for this my Fairlane, such as what oil to use, tire pressure, transmission fluid type, power steering type, brake ajustment, etc. So, wether you would like to take this Fairlane out for icecream on a sunday afternoon or if you would like to restore this beautiful machine from the ground up the choice is yours! All I can deliver to you is one beautiful and unique canvas in which to begin from! If you would like to contact me directly, feel free. *******860-982-5335******* Ask for Adam.. Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Maybe so. The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
Watch this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fly like an eagle [UPDATE]
Mon, 04 Feb 2013The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance.
The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip.
UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.
Ford will build Hackmobile out of Transit Connect Wagon
Fri, 27 Dec 2013What you see in the above image is a rendering of the Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon. What is that? It's a "mobile fabrication and hacking unit" that includes tools for metal- and woodworking, 3D and electronics fabrication, a three-axis CNC machine called "The Fabber," a video projector and screen, an air compressor, an 84x48-inch work surface that folds out like a Murphy bed and oh so much more. When not in use, all of the implements fold neatly into the back of Ford's award-winning van.
But perhaps the more important question is why is that? Because Make Magazine held an Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge in conjunction with Ford in which ten teams created were charged with creating "the ultimate Ford Transit Connect Wagon for the do-it-yourself enthusiast." Team Twin Cities Maker won the competition with the Hackmobile, and in addition to winning $10,000, Ford has declared it's actually going to build the thing - which is great, because if they can actually engineer a road-legal Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon as envisioned, the inevitable A-Team movie reboot might need to think about including it.
Check out the video below for a cheeky walk-through of the Hackmobile, and get all the particulars in the press release below that.
