Here we have a very nice 1957 Ford F100 V8 Stepside Long Bed Pick-up Project in Very Good Condition.  Truck has spent it's life in Colorado dry climate and has very minimal rust.  Look at the front end, very straight and all the chrome trim is intact in excellent condition.  I recently purchased this truck to restore, but other projects are taking precedence so I am going to pass this one on.  The original .292 V8 motor is in the back of the truck as shown as well as the radiator.  It is missing the original 3-speed transmission and drive shaft.  The steering and brakes are working and the truck moves about well.  The previous owner started to restore the truck in 1991 and dropped the ball shortly after he pulled the motor.  He said the motor ran well then, but who knows now.  The project sat at his business till now and the engine was on a pallet inside the warehouse.  Over the years, the transmission and drive shaft got lost.  I have never seen a nicer original 1957 dash, it is in beautiful condition, nothing damaged and all there.  Under the hood, everything is still there and looks like it would be easy to hook up an engine.  All wiring looks good and the speedometer cable is there.  Cross member is in place, just needs the drive train, engine, transmission and drive shaft.  The truck has incredible patina, I started waxing the right front quarter panel and door, if the whole truck was polished, it could be clear coated, the patina is so cool.  Passenger door has been replaced as well as the right front fender, passenger door is missing the inside cover panel.  All the glass is intact and the windows and door locks and latches all work, I have 2 ignition keys and 1 door key. The front window has a hole, but not from a bullet, and the back glass and passenger window are cracked.  The bed has a few dents on the passenger side that can be straightened, and there is a donor bed on the ground behind the truck, it has a good tailgate and other parts if needed, hard to find these step side long beds, I will dismantle this bed down to 2 long sides, tailgate, font, and some bottom slat pieces, most all of it just un-bolts.  I will load the other bed in the back of the truck with the engine for transport.  The only real rust problem is the inside cab corners on the floor board as shown and the running board steps.  Should be easy to fix and make solid, this was a flaw in the construction of these, the brackets under there held mud and moisture and caused rust.  Other than that and a few dents, should be easy to fix up, truck is really very straight, especially the front end, it looks great.  I have a clear Colorado title and the truck can be seen and/or picked up in Longmont, Colorado.  I will be happy to help loading if you want to send a trucking company to pick it up, I won't handle the shipping though.  Any questions please email me or call 303-507-0045, Mike.

Ford Australia debuts Ranger-based Everest SUV concept

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Ford has been in hot water in Australia ever since it announced plans to end local production of the Falcon and Territory SUV. Besides canceling a model that is to Oz what the Mustang is to America, the end of production means more than a few folks will be out of work.
Keen to prove that it has a plan for the market, Ford has unveiled the Aussie-penned Everest Concept, a rough-and-tumble, seven-seat SUV. While not a direct replacement for the aging Territory (that role will eventually be filled by either the Edge or Flex, according to Car Advice) it's an indication from Ford's brass that the Blue Oval is still committed to Australia.
To prove that fact, Alan Mullaly, Mark Fields, Jim Farley and regional execs descended on Sydney for the debut of the new concept. Ford's Australian president and CEO, Bob Graziano, said of the Everest, "Our customers, our employees and Australia can be assured that we're connected to the nation and committed to our customers through terrific products with class-leading technologies."

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
