We purchased this car from a gentleman who is a certified GM mechanic with 40 years of experience. He built the entire car himself, spending over $12,000 for materials. He spent many years to complete the project. He took this Ranchero to car shows, and enjoyed it for a few summers. He sold the car because he is starting new projects on other cars, and now you have the opportunity to own this clean, crisp newly-built Ranchero. The doors have been shaven. The gas door also is shaved and is now located in the bed of the truck for safety. It has all new gauges. The body, as you can see in the pictures, is very, very clean. There is nearly no rust on the car. The underneath the car, as shown in the photos, is clean and solid. The interior was re-done from top to bottom and it makes an old car feel like new. It also has nice tires and wheels, as shown in the pictures. When this thing starts and runs, it’s not that loud, but it sounds really healthy. The transmission shifts correctly (and that was also re-built of course). All you have to do to enjoy this fine driving machine is to put the key in and go. This is a no-reserve auction, which means that when the auction is over, the last highest bidder wins the Ranchero. Everyone who sees this car absolutely loves it. 'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
Ford picks Fiesta ST, Transit Connect as this year's SEMA darlings
Sat, 02 Feb 2013SEMA is more than nine months away, but the reveille bugle for the show has just sounded with Ford's call to aftermarket companies for its project-vehicle program. The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and 2014 Transit Connect van and wagon are the cars The Blue Oval wants to feature, but applicants can submit project vehicles for any product except the GT500, the Raptor, or anything from Lincoln.
Submissions must be completed in two parts, the first being an email to Ford with an overview of the project, like vehicle theme, promotional plan and location display. The second part must be mailed in on company letterhead and gets down to the nuts and bolts of the vision and the provision of company bona fides. The complete proposal is due on March 1, winners will be notified by May 1. Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?

The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
